Positivity rate declining continuously

Number of patients recovering is increasing day by day
Nearly 60 thousand tests are being conducted daily

Due to the efforts being made to curb corona infection in the state, the positivity rate of corona is continuously decreasing. The state's positivity rate was 21.12% on April 30, which has come down to 20.9% on May 2. Today, on May 3, the positivity rate has come down to 20.2%. The state is getting more recoveries than positive cases every day. More than 50 thousand tests are being done every day. On Sunday May 2, 59 thousand 448 tests were conducted. Mobile teams are also being sent to collect samples in all the districts.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the number of people becoming healthy and infection-free is increasing every day due to better management and increase in medical facilities in the state. On April 30, 13 thousand 584 patients, on May 1, 14 thousand 562 and on May 2, 13 thousand 890 corona patients have reached their home safely after recovering and getting infection free. The state's recovery rate was 82.88% on April 30, 83.63% on May 1, and it increased to 84.19% on May 2. Today, the recovery rate of the state has gone up to 84.73%.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that out of the total number of people who have become healthy in a single day in the state, 84.3% are patients who were in home isolation and 4% are patients who were in Covid Care Centres. Thus, 88.3% of the patients are recovering in home isolation and covid care centres without going to hospital. The remaining 11.7% have recovered and returned home from hospitals.

Home isolation

More than 64 thousand 218 patients are currently in home isolation in the state. 97% of these patients have been contacted at least once over the telephone. Home delivery of medical kits and health brochures are being made to 100% of patients living in home isolation in urban and rural areas.

Covid Care Centres

255 covid care centres have been started in 52 districts of the state, in which patients with mild symptoms are residing. At present, there are a total of 16 thousand 516 beds in these centres. Out of these, 1267 oxygen beds have been set up. Similarly, a total of 22 thousand 10 institutional quarantine centres have been set up in rural areas of the state, in which more than 2 lakh 63 thousand 715 beds have been set up. Medical kits and health brochures are being provided to 100 per cent of the patients residing in all Covid Care Centres / Institutional Quarantine Centres in urban and rural areas.

Hospitals and beds

A total of 845 Covid hospitals are presently operational in the state. Of these, 315 are being operated in the government sector and 530 in the private sector. On April 1, the number of beds available in the state was 20 thousand 159, which has now increased to 60 thousand 550. More than a thousand beds are being added every day. More than 40 thousand beds have been added in the last one month.

Remdesivir Injection

So far, 2 lakh 10 thousand 365 Remdesivir injection dosages have been received from seven different companies in the state. On 3 May, 2000 units were supplied by M/s Cipla Health Care to Government Supply Indore, 1500 units to MGM Indore, 1500 units to Ujjain and 3050 units to private and 2400 units of Remdesivir Injections were supplied by M/s Sun Pharma to private in all over Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, to increase the availability of Remdesivir Injections, the Government of India has allocated 1 lakh 89 thousand 700 Remdesivir Injections for purchase of injections from 7 companies in the state.

Oxygen availability

Efforts are on to increase local arrangements in the state along with the supply of oxygen from the Central government. On May 2, a total of 446.8 metric tonnes of oxygen was supplied from external sources in the state. Today, the state is expected to get supply of 484 MT of oxygen from external sources. Apart from this, the work of setting up a large scale oxygen plant in the state is also going on a war footing.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that 2000 oxygen concentrators have been purchased by the state government to smoothen the supply of oxygen. Besides, about 2 thousand oxygen concentrators have been installed through the local arrangements. The latest VPSA technology based oxygen plants are being set up at Bhopal, Rewa, Indore, Gwalior and Shahdol district hospitals in the state at a cost of Rs one crore 60 lakh. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to set up oxygen plants using this latest technology. The oxygen produced from these plants will be available for 50 beds.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that instructions have been issued to provide special financial assistance package for new investments to increase oxygen production capacity. Under this, the maximum investment assistance will be payable up to 75 crores mainly on the capital investment made in plant, machinery and buildings and at a flat rate of 50 percent. In addition, concessions have also been given in electricity tariffs.

Onsite oxygen gas generator plants operating on the basis of new debel technology have been developed at the hospital itself by DRDO, the Ministry of Defense. On-site oxygen gas generator plants with a capacity of 570 liters per minute are being set up in 8 districts of the state, Balaghat, Dhar, Damoh, Jabalpur, Barwani, Shahdol, Satna and Mandsaur, costing more than Rs 5 crore 87 lakh. Along with this, 8 oxygen plants based on PSA technology have been approved in 8 districts out of which 7 plants have started functioning. For 37 districts of the state, the state government is setting up new oxygen plants prepared with PSA technology in district hospitals with its own budget. The work of laying the pipeline to convert the beds of government hospitals in the state to oxygen beds is also continuing on a war footing.

Vaccination

So far, health workers, frontline workers, senior citizens and more than 81 lakh 38 thousand people above 45 years of age have been vaccinated. More than 3 crore 22 lakh citizens of the state will get vaccinated. The state government will spend about Rs 2,710 crore on this work. The work orders of 45 thousand doses of the Covishield vaccine have been issued.
