CM Shri Chouhan praised the roadmap for development of Jabalpur

Discussion was held on the roadmap for all-round development of Jabalpur at Kalchuri Hotel in Jabalpur today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The Chief Minister directed for effective action to implement it. In the meantime, the Chief Minister, after holding a discussion with the public representatives and officials, instructed that 100 percent implementation of water supply schemes launched for the development of urban areas should be ensured by 2024. Also, in view of the new population in the future, arrangements should be made in advance and schemes should then be implemented.

Appreciating the roadmap prepared for the development of Jabalpur, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed to make it multi-functional. Reviewing the current status of sewerage, he told to improve it. He told to pay attention to the purification of Narmada River. He said that the Narmada River should not be polluted at any cost. He instructed the officers to identify the dirty drains that merge into the river. Regarding the street lighting system of the city, the Chief Minister said that traditional street lights should be converted into LED street lights so that energy is saved.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that cleanliness campaign will be successful only when there there is public participation in it. He said that, an action plan should be prepared within 15 days after a discussion with public representatives, so that Jabalpur gets a place in the first 10 cities of the country in the Cleanliness Survey 2021. He issued instructions to ensure door-to-door waste collection and waste management, generate energy from waste and to develop the concept of ThreeRs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle). Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that if the use and maintenance of public toilets is better, it improves the hygiene situation.

Infrastructure development works were reviewed in the meeting. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan laid emphasis on development of roads with flyover and urban transport. He told to plan an IPL level cricket stadium in the city. To preserve and protect the environment of Jabalpur, old ponds must be revived. Ponds in Jabalpur are invaluable, they should be kept safe from encroachments. He also emphasized on beautification of the ponds. Collector Shri Karmavir Sharma informed about the roadmap prepared for the development of the urban area.

The Chief Minister said that just like the super corridor developed in Indore, a road should be built in such a way that IT parks, large institutes and logistics parks can be established around it keeping the future of Jabalpur in mind.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan issued instructions to the officers to increase the income source of the Municipal Corporation. He called for the formation and strengthening of self-help groups, skill training employment, expansion of Deendayal kitchen and arrangement of night shelters for the poor and labourers under inclusive urban development.

Regarding housing for the poor, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that special care should be taken to ensure that housing is duly allocated. Under good governance, he directed to solve problems easily through e-governance and also to plan for its future schemes. IT parks and roads should be developed under Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh Atmanirbhar Jabalpur.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Jabalpur is fast emerging as a major tourism hub. The Chief Minister gave instructions to develop Geological Park in Jabalpur soon, develop Bhedaghat as a tourism cluster and take immediate action towards the construction of Science Centre. Shri Chouhan said that water sports activities should be resumed in Bargi. Preparations must be started for it now.

Member of Parliament Shri Rakesh Singh, former Minister and MLA Shri Ajay Vishnoi, MLA Shri Ashok Rohani, Smt.Nandani Maravi, Shri Sushil Tiwari Indu, Shri Tarun Bhanot, Shri Sanjay Yadav, Commissioner Shri B.C. Chandrashekhar, IG Shri Bhagwat Singh Chauhan and officials were present in the meeting.
