Economy had collapsed, roadmap for self-reliance made without delay

CM Shri Chouhan attends Leadership Summit of Hindustan Times

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh is inclined on fulfilling the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat with full force. At a time when Covid 19 was spreading its tentacles, and after becoming the Chief Minister of the state, not only did we take concrete steps to control the virus but also took concrete initiative to construct a roadmap of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh in three months. These attempts to find solutions in times of crisis have also been successful. The task of increasing employment prospects is also becoming easier. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing the online session of the International Leadership Summit organized by Hindustan Times today. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also answered questions regarding achievements related to Corona control, economic development and public welfare during the last eight months in Madhya Pradesh. Rescued public from crisis situation

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the circumstances of Corona were not normal. The former government in Madhya Pradesh had no preparation to deal with this dangerous virus. They had not even called for a meeting. We rescued the people of the state from the crisis situation. Soon after taking oath as Chief Minister, I went to Mantralaya directly and first took a meeting to know the status of Corona. There was only one lab for testing in the state, which was increased to 75. Necessary number of beds, oxygen, medicines was arranged in a week. Management of staff was also ensured. PPE kits started being manufactured in the state. Women of self-help groups contributed significantly in protecting the people of the state from the virus by manufacturing masks on a war footing. Now when it is time for Corona vaccine to arrive, necessary preparations have been made for it in Madhya Pradesh.

Along with the challenge of stopping the Corona infection, there was the challenge of bringing the collapsed economy back on track. Prime Minister Shri Modi had said that ‘Jaan hai to Jahan hai’. We prepared a roadmap for Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. For this, priority was given to the works to increase infrastructure, health, education, good governance, economy and employment opportunities. People needed basic facilities. The State left Punjab behind in wheat procurement. There is abundant production in Madhya Pradesh after irrigation area in the state was increased in the previous years. In the last eight months, the work of transferring funds to the accounts of the beneficiaries of various sections has been done constantly.

New laws are in the interest of farmers, the path of dialogue is the best

Regarding farmers, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that new laws will be in the interest of farmers. Giving the farmers other option for selling their crop other than Mandi, is in their interest. The Minimum Support Price system will remain intact. If the traders and farmers agree mutually under the new alternative method of purchasing agricultural produce, then why should anyone have any objection. Communication is very important in a democracy. No solution comes out of any obstinacy. The farmers of Madhya Pradesh are in favour of new laws. Even otherwise, the Model Act was being discussed since many years. There is provision in the option of contact farming option also that even if the value of the crop decreases in the market, the farmer will not be at a loss. He will surely get the benefit of the provision of selling his produce at fixed rate.

Legal provisions in the interests of girls and women

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is making legal provisions to ensure that girls and women are be exploited. No attempt should be made to seduce or lure anyone to lead a life of hell. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that in some recent cases, women caught in such a vicious circle were rescued and sent to their families. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan answered all the questions asked by the Hindustan Times representatives at the summit. Commissioner Public Relations Dr. Sudam Khade, Director Public Relations Shri Ashutosh Pratap Singh were present on the occasion.
