Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Gauvansh Act will be enacted for the protection of gauvansh in the state. Children in anganwadis will be fed with cow milk in place of eggs. Products made from cow milk, cow dung and gau-mutra will be promoted and popularized in the country and abroad. Janpad-wise nodal officers will be nominated for better management of gaushalas.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing people at a function organized on the occasion of Gopashtami at Salaria cow-sanctuary in Agar district. On this occasion, Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Premsingh Patel, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Dr. Mahendra Singh Sisodia, Swami Shri Akhileshwaranandji, Dr. Awadhesh Puri Ji Maharaj, MP Dewas-Shajapur Shri Mahendra Singh Solanki, MP Rajgarh Shri Rodmal Nagar, MLA Susner Shri Vikram Singh Rana, District Panchayat president Smt. Kalabai Guhatia, Additional Chief Secretary Shri J.N. Kansotia, Divisional Commissioner Ujjain Shri Anand Sharma were present.

Gau-cabinet to study cow management in the country and abroad

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that a cow cabinet has been constituted for the promotion and conservation of cows in the state, which will study cow management in the country and abroad and implement best cow management in the state, to ensure best care of cows, mass production and widespread sale of cow products.

Pastures to be developed

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that pastures will be developed on the vacant land of Forest Department etc. to provide maximum fodder to the cattle. A separate policy will also be formulated in this connection. Rules for allocation of government land will be made for the construction of gaushalas.

Lord Krishna went to graze cattle for the first time on the day of Gopashtami

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in our culture, it is believed that 33 crore Gods and Goddesses dwell in the sacred cow. Worshipping the cow is considered equivalent to worhsipping all Gods and Goddessess. Gopashtami is celebrated every year on Kartik Shukla Ashtami. Gau-puja on Gopashtami has special significance. It was on this day that Lord Krishna and Balram went to the forest to graze cattle for the first time.

Will not let cattle to stray anywhere

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we will not allow our cattle to stray anywhere. Taking care of the cow like our mother is our moral and social responsibility. The government is opening about two thousand gaushalas in the state and the participation of the society along with the government in their operation is also being ensured, for total care of cattle. Gauvansh Sanjeevani Yojana will be restarted in the state for the treatment of cattle. Gau-sadan that were closed down by the previous government will be restarted.

Use of Finance Commission funds for management of cattle

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that State Finance Commission funds will be utilized for the management of cattle in the Panchayats. Panch-Parmeshwar’s funds will be used for the provision of electricity, water in gaushalas. Janpad-wise nodal officers are being nominated for the management of gaushalas, who will be responsible for proper management of cowsheds.

Every cow product is like nectar

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that not only cow milk but cow dung and gau-mutra is also like nectar. While cow milk is good for health and has disease-resistant ability, use of cow dung for cleaning etc. prevents harmful radiation and produces positive energy. The environment is protected by the use of cow dung cakes and gau kasht. The use of cow dung manure instead of chemical fertilizer not only increases the fertility of the soil, but also strengthens the crops.

Cow sanctuary will be made model

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Salaria cow sanctuary will be developed as a model cow sanctuary. A large number of trees will be planted in the sanctuary complex and check dams, stop dams will be constructed. Research Centre will be started in the campus. A centre will also be opened for training of cow products.
