Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh is celebrating Janjati Gaurav Diwas today, remembering the sacrifice of great patriot Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary. Shaheed Birsa Munda sacrificed his life fearlessly, protecting the Indian pride, freedom as well as fighting against the suppression and exploitation of the British. The freedom movement has a bright history of valour and courage of the tribal heroes of Madhya Pradesh. The Government of Madhya Pradesh is working with firm commitment to make the tribal culture, tradition and glorious history ever lasting, set by these great tribal heroes as well as for social harmony and to free them from exploitation.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing a state level programme, organized on the birth anniversary of Shaheed Birsa Munda to pay tribute to the tribal heroes and to remember their sacrifices on Janjati Gaurav Diwas at Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum today. Minister for Scheduled Tribe Welfare Sushri Meena Singh Mandve from Umaria and Minister for Culture & Tourism and Adhyatm Sushri Usha Thakur participated in the programme from Indore.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan stated that Janjati Guarav Diwas in Madhya Pradesh will be celebrated every year on the birthday of Birsa Munda, November 15. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh government will organize a grand programme to honour the tribal heroes on November 25 this year. Shaheed Birsa Munda is our inspiration. The tradition and culture established by him is a core principle of India.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the state government has accepted the basic principle of social harmony. The culture of India is multicoloured. The tribal culture of Madhya Pradesh will be further flourished. We will not let it fade out under any circumstances.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the name of the Aadim Jati Kalyan Vibhag of the state government will be changed to Janjati Karya Vibhag. Efforts have been made to save the art, culture, dance, tradition and values of life ​​of the tribes at Tribal Museum.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the government belongs to everyone. A large part of Madhya Pradesh’s treasury is being spent on the socio-economic upliftment of the poor. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Samrasta Chhatravas will be built in Madhya Pradesh, in which children of every section of the society will study. He said that a fixed percentage of seats will be reserved for tribal students in all the hostels of the government. Poor students of all classes will be given admission at 10 percent seats in the scheduled tribe hostel. This is an attempt of the administration to promote social harmony.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the state government is committed towards empowerment of tribals. Law has been enacted to take action against unlicensed moneylenders charging high rates of interest. All loans of those tribals who have been given loan against rules have been waived.

Memorial of Raja Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah to be built in Jabalpur

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the natural right of tribals on forest produce will be strengthened further. If the forest produce is sold at a lower price then the state government will buy it on support price. Efforts for food processing of kodo-kutki, jowar, maize etc. will be made. Provisions of the 5th notification will be considered and implemented. Social justice is our commitment. Effective steps have been taken to stop the vicious cycle of conversion. Conversion will not be allowed under the guise of service. The Chief Minister said that memorials of Raja Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah will be built in Jabalpur at a cost of Rs 5 crore.

Tribal heroes remembered

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan recalled the sacrifices of tribal heroes – Martyr Birsa Munda, Rani Durgavati, Shankar Shah-Raghunath Shah, Badal Bhoi, Tantya Bhil, Bhima Nayak and Khajya Nayaks and the culture, tradition and works accomplished by them. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan extended Diwali greetings. He said that today is Govardhan Puja which spreads the message of nature worship, environmental protection and promotion.

Short films “Ranbankure” aur “Ranbankure” folder released

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan released short films “Ranbankure” aur “Ranbankure” folder, based on the self-esteem of tribal heroes, made by Madhya Pradesh Madhyam. On this occasion, this short film was screened. The programme began with Principal Secretary, Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department Smt. Pallavi Jain Govil’s welcome speech and proposal presentation. Principal Secretary, Culture Department Shri Shivshekhar Shukla proposed the vote of thanks. Korku dance group artist Mansaram welcomed the Chief Minister with an aesthetic garland and attire. The Chief Minister also honoured Shri Mansaram by garlanding him. After the programme, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan inspected the library of Tribal Museum and appreciated it.
