भोपाल : सोमवार, नवम्बर 9, 2020, 20:02 IST

Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel has said that it is the teachers’ duty job to ensure all round development of the children by address their shortcomings and enhancing their capabilities. If this is done in unison, India will become a Vishwaguru. Smt. Patel was addressing the Jyotirmaya Samman ceremony held at Raj Bhavan today. While urging for making the state T.B. free, she said said that young children below 25 years of age, suffering from T.B. should be adopted by teachers. They can be freed from the disease in 5 to 6 months by providing nutritious food to them. She told that after Covid-19, people have adopted 1660 such patients in Lucknow and 750 such patients in Kashi of Uttar Pradesh.

Governor Smt. Patel said that teachers have a bigger role than parents in the all-round development of children. Teachers have responsibility to keep information about every child and to cooperate in solving their problems. Teachers should inform the management and administrators for changes and improvements in the education system. Admission starts in class in Uttar Pradesh even before the month of child's right age of admission. In such a situation, children were deprived of education for a long time. This problem was solved by giving admission to the children, who completed their age for admission in the designated month at the time of school commencement. Children should also be introduced to the glorious Indian culture and its traditions. Such efforts of teachers are necessary for the all-round development of children.

Smt. Patel said that keeping in view the independent existence of Indians, even after the establishment of the British governance system, the British government got the Indian education system studied at a wide scale. The study revealed the fact that not every village had a modern school-like system. There were people like Rishis, to whom children used to go to receive knowledge Some also used to live there. They used to get full education there. All the needs of these teachers were met by the people of the village. After this study, the British government implemented the education system for creating clerks. Referring to the post-earthquake disaster in Gujarat, she said that the parents were demanding that the exam be canceled. She went to more than 100 schools in the affected area and discussed with the children, they asked to conduct the examination after giving them relief of one month’s period. The results of the examination remain the same as they used to be in the past. She further said that children have the ability to face adverse situations. There is need to hone their talents and to assimilate their qualities like zeal and discipline.

Governor Smt. Patel said that the new education policy is an initiative to bring change according to the values of Indian culture and the needs of the modern world, under which arrangements have been made after wide contemplation and discussion on everything from Aanganwadi to higher education. She said that a module of education and teaching activities has been prepared at Aanganwadi level in Lucknow Raj Bhavan. A training booklet for children, mothers, aanganwadi workers and parents has been prepared. Referring to the Arjuna-Subhadra dialogue of the epic Mahabharata, she said that the environment of the family affects child during pregnancy. On this basis, work is being done abroad. Unfortunately we are forgetting this in India. Accordingly such poems, stories and games have been selected in the booklet, which will teach children about the moral values, environment, harmony, cooperation, courage and discipline as well as provide general knowledge and knowledge about Mathematics and Science. Information as regard to how to discuss with the children after reading stories and poems has been given in the booklet. She further mentioned that it will be reviewed after studying the result of the experiment of one year. Smt. Patel encouraged educationists to take initiative in this direction.

In the programme, a welcome speech was given by Shri Sadgurusharan Awasthi, the Editor Nai Duniya/Navduniya. The vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Naresh Pandey, the Head of Operations Nai Duniya/Navduniya. Earlier, the Governor was welcomed by Shri Sanjay Mishra, Editor, Navduniya, Bhopal.
