While inaugurating the ‘Grah Pravesham’, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi gave possession of 1 lakh 75 thousand houses to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Today, the whole country became witness of the fabulous execution of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana through online house warming programme. The Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been given a vibrant form by avoiding unnecessary government interference. He further said that the joy of festivals will be more for the beneficiaries of the scheme this year. I myself would have come in person to join such a great moment of jubilation in your life, but corona compelled me to stay back. Prime Minister Modi interacted with Shri Gulab Singh Adivasi of Dhar district, Shri Pyarelal Yadav of Singrauli district and Shri Narendra Namdev of Gwalior.

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that it usually takes 125 days to construct a house under the Awas yojana. Many houses were constructed in Madhya Pradesh in just 45 to 60 days. The pace at which this work has been done in Madhya Pradesh is a record in itself.Construction of 1.75 lakh houses in Madhya Pradesh is a big achievement. If this momentum persists, there will be no hurdle in achieving the goal of giving home to every family in the country by the year 2022. Madhya Pradesh will have significant contribution in this.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who attended the event through video conference from Morena, welcomed Prime Minister Shri Modi. Governor of Madhya Pradesh Smt. Anandiben Patel, Union Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development of Madhya Pradesh Shri Mahendra Singh Sisodiya, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Rajya Sabha Member Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia were also attended the virtual programme. The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also talked with affinity with the beneficiaries of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains also attended the programme through VC from Mantralaya, Bhopal. Additional Chief Secretary Panchaya and Rural Development Shri Manoj Shrivastava conducted the programme.

Annual target of house construction achieved, 17 lakh houses constructed till now: CM Shri Chouhan

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that today 1.75 lakh people of Madhya Pradesh, who have got houses are enjoying the atmosphere of jubilation. There is a festive atmosphere in the state. Also, other people, who do not own houses will also get the benefit. An amount of Rs. 654 crore was provided to the beneficiaries in four installments under the scheme.This year 6 lakh houses have been constructed, fulfilling the annual target of the state. As against the target of 20 lakh in the state, 17 lakh houses have been built under the scheme. Along with the houses, the work of providing food grains at the rate of Re. One per k.g. is also being carried out.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Prime Minister Shri Modi, who has taken the country to new heights is welcome. Every poor has dream of having their own house. 37 lakh people of Madhya Pradesh who did not have the eligibility slips, will now get food grains. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan mentioned that the ‘Grah Pravesham’ programme is being celebrated in 26 thousand 548 villages of 16 thousand 440 Gram Panchayats. One crore 24 lakh 92 thousand 394 people did pre-registration to connect themselves with this programme, which is a symbol of people’s excitement towards the scheme. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh will not lag behind in fulfilling the resolution ‘Every individual should have their own pucca house’ of the Prime Minister by the 75th Independence anniversary of the country.

Prime Minister appreciates house built by Halma tradition

Prime Minister Shri Modi started conversation in local dialect with Gulab Singh Adivasi of Dhar district. He praised the beneficiary Shri Gulab Singh for constructing a good house. When Prime Minister inquired about his health, he said that he is not keeping good health since the last few days. So my son will talk on my behalf. Shri Meru, the son of Shri Gulab Singh, told that he has constructed a house with Halma tradition, prevalent in the region. Under this, the people of the village work together to build houses and the person whose house is being built, he feeds everyone. Praising this tradition, Prime Minister Modi said that this is an amazing example of government initiative and social cooperation. It uses the skills of all the people of the village. This is a practical way to simplify life. The government is also working on this method to fulfill the dreams of the poor. Prime Minister Shri Modi praised the painting made at Shri Gulab Singh's residence. Gulab Singh said that it is Mandna, which is made to decorate house in this region.

PM inquired, did anyone ask for money

50 thousand male masons and 9 thousand female masons trained

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that this housing scheme is also important in changing the lives of rural women in Madhya Pradesh, where the registration of houses is being done under the housing scheme in the name of women or jointly. New work opportunities have been created for women under the scheme. At the same time, a unique initiative has been taken for the training of women mason. Women are moving forward on the path of self-reliance as Women Masons. In Madhya Pradesh alone, more than 50 thousand masons were trained, out of which 9000 are women masons. This is increasing both women's income and confidence. This effort will strengthen our resolve to build an Atmanirbhar Bharat.\

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also interacted with Shri Pyarelal Yadav of Gaderia, Gram Panchayat- Vaidhan of Singrauli district. The Prime Minister asked Shri Yadav what has been prepared in the food on the occasion of Grah Pravesh entry. The Prime Minister also asked if he came across any problem in building the house. He also inquired that did anyone ask for money and how many times did he visited the bank, Shri Yadav said that without any necessary visits, installments were deposited in my account on time and he also received technical guidance in construction of house. Shri Yadav told the Prime Minister that he had built his house with fly ash bricks. It is also economical and is stronger than normal brick. The Prime Minister praised this innovation and also inquired from Shri Yadav about the education of his children.

Lost son’s life because of snake bite in kuchcha house, now happy to have pucca house

Prime Minister Shri Modi also spoke to Shri Narendra Namdev, the beneficiary of the scheme of Gwalior district. Shri Narendra Namdev told that his son died untimely due to snake bite in a kuchcha house. That sorrow was very big, but today he is lot happier. I stitch uniforms for the children of the village. My wife also does stitching work. We have also received 8 day sewing training through the District Panchayat. Prime Minister Shri Modi told Shri Narendra that you are using spectacles; it just came to my mind that my grandmother used to say that needle-threads should be used for eyes exercise. Since you are involved in stitching work, that exercise automatically happens. After seeing the house of Shri Narendra Namdev, Prime Minister Modi asked who has selected the colour of the walls? Shri Namdev told that wife Anita chose this colour. The Namdev couple also invited Prime Minister Shri Modi to their home, in response to which, the Prime Minister Shri Modi said that he would definitely come.

Self-reliant poor will pave way for Atmanirbhar Bharat

After interacting with the beneficiaries, Prime Minister Shri Modi congratulated them and said that the new life of all these beneficiaries is beginning from today. Prime Minister Shri Modi said in his address that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana gives not just house but also confidence. Disaster has been transformed into an opportunity. It is a programme to give confidence to the public. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that today is the day that assures crores of people that the schemes implemented in correct manner bring good results. This house will be the foundation of your better future, you all start a new life. Prime Minister Modi told the beneficiaries to be conscious to take advantage of other schemes also. This awareness and activeness will make you self-reliant as well as pave the way for building an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Transparency and Participation are special features of Housing Scheme

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the basis of success of this scheme is transparency. Houses were even built earlier, schemes are implemented since decades. Houses are being built since independence, but the goal of giving houses to crores of people was not met. Beneficiaries are now part of the house construction. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that along with houses, sheds for cattle are also being built in rural areas. Roads are also being constructed in rural areas and other works too are being carried out at rapidly. Labourers returned from urban areas to villages have also got jobs. Pradhan Mantri Gharib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyan has gained momentum. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that people were not ready to shift to the houses built earlier in the housing scheme. Old experiences were taken into account and the scheme was implemented with new thinking. By protecting the scheme from unnecessary government interference, the work is now being done under a transparent process.

Madhya Pradesh linked 27 schemes to Awas Yojana

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also linked 27 other schemes by paying special attention to the implementation of the Awas yojana. As a result, along with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the poor beneficiary has also got the benefits of schemes like Ujjawala, Ujala, Swachh Shouchalaya and Ayushman Bharat etc. Prime Minister Shri Modi congratulated the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the good implementation of the Awas Yojana.

Revolution by Optical Fiber

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the benefits of efforts made to increase internet speed in the country are being availed. Services are getting better by extending optical fiber. A network of 19 thousand kilometers has been laid in 116 districts in the country. In Madhya Pradesh also, the work of 1300 k.m. has been completed, which is commendable. Work to lay optical fiber has been completed in 2.5 lakh villages against the target of laying optical fiber network in 6 lakh villages of the country. Work is being carried out on the goal of extending it from village to village.

Do not quit precautions for protection from corona

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the problem of corona infection has not ended yet. Every person should take full care of cleanliness. One should not take it lightly till the medicine to avoid corona infection i.e. vaccine arrives. Use masks and maintain a distance of two yards, he added.
