Indore is a fascinating city in India. The tradition and culture here has its own distinct identity. Now people of this city are educating the tradition of cleanliness to the country. The citizens of Indore have not only glorified the name of the city in the world but have also highlighted its works in the world. This is not once but for the fourth time in a row. This work is not due to the effort of the government but the efforts of the public. Trenching ground has been opposed in the country, but here Nandanvan has been developed on the trenching ground, which does not happen anywhere. This was stated by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan during the foundation laying of 550 TDP Biomethanization Plant for the disposal of wet waste at the trenching ground in Indore. He said that even during the Corona period, Indore has taught us the responsibility of service. The service that the people here have rendered to the workers and migrants has set an example in the world.

In her welcome address MLA Smt. Malini Gaur said that 200 tonnes of wet waste will be disposed in the first phase and 500 tonnes in the second phase under PPP mode. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan planted a Bargad sapling at the trenching ground. Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsi Silavat, Culture Minister Sushri Usha Thakur, MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, former Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, MLA Shri Akash Vijayvargiya, Shri Mahendra Hardia, Shri Ramesh Mendola, Shri Sudarshan Gupta, Shri Manoj Patel and other public representatives were present at the programme.

Asia’s largest waste-to-wealth garbage disposal system

This is a unique and amazing effort of Indore, the country's cleanest city for four consecutive years. With garbage spread everywhere around, no one liked to come near the place up to a radius of 2 km. Today, the best cultivable fertilizer-rich soil produced here is laid on this ground. The dense forest adds beauty to the surroundings. German company Proweps Envirotech will contribute to the establishment of this plant in the form of a joint venture with IEISL, New Delhi. The company will spend around Rs 150 crore on setting up the plant. On completion, the plant will not only enable eco-friendly disposal of 550 tonnes of the city’s wet waste but will also be a source of income for the Municipal Corporation. Conceptualized by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this plant will be Asia’s largest plant in waste to wealth garbage disposal system. In his address, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also mentioned about getting the plant dedicated by the country’s Prime Minister Shri Modi. The Municipal Corporation does not have to bear any financial burden on the establishment of this plant. On the other hand, the company, setting up this plant will pay Rs 25 crore 2 lakh 50 thousand as premium every year for 20 years.

Corporation’s vehicles will run on gas generated from trenching

With the establishment of this project for methanization of dry and wet waste of Indore city in the direction of Atmanirbhar Bharat, 17 thousand 500 kg of CNG gas will be produced per day. Out of this, 8750 kg CNG gas will be available to Municipal Corporation Indore less than the market rate by Rs. 5 per k.g. The gas produced daily will be used to operate the AICTSL transport service which means, this project will prove to be a multipurpose project. This plant will actually improve the air quality of the city to a great extent. With the setting up of the biomethanization plant, the municipal corporation will earn an income of Rs 4.15 crore every year from the 300 and 200 tonne material recovery facility plant-1 and plant-2, set up in the past for disposal of dry waste. The income will cover the amount to be incurred in the operation and maintenance of the Devguradia trenching ground.
