Super Specialty Hospital costing over Rs 237 crore dedicated in Indore

Action will be taken against private hospitals if arbitrary fee is charged–CM Shri Chouhan
Central government will extend full support to M. P. in expansion of health facilities-Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has presented a big gift to the field of medicine today. He dedicated a Super Specialty Hospital, fully equipped with modern medical facilities, built at a cost of over Rs 237 crore in Indore. The hospital has 10-storeys having state-of-the-art medical facilities. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harshvardhan and Union Minister of State for Health Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey from New Delhi and Medical Education Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang from Bhopal attended the programme through video conference. Among others who were also present included Former Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silavat, Tourism Minister Sushri Usha Thakur and MP Shri Shankar Lalwani.

The newly constructed hospital will have Neurology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, Urosurgery, Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Medical Gastroenterology, Surgical Gastroenterology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Organ Transplant facilities. This is a 402-bed hospital. There will be 208 beds mainly in the General Ward. Remaining beds will also be in ICU, emergency, private and semi private wards etc.

Addressing the programme, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that health facilities are being rapidly expanded in Madhya Pradesh. Central government is also extending full support in this direction. Every effort is being made to fulfill the resolve of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that all possible efforts are being made to tackle Covid. From the day when I took the charge of Chief Minister again, I started making efforts to tackle corona. Before this neither was there any preparation nor any system. Corona was being ignored. As soon as I took over the office, situation was reviewed and effective steps were taken to handle Corona. He said that earlier, the number of beds for Corona patients were very less, they have been increased and are sufficient now. The capacity of testing samples which was in two digits earlier has now been increased to 2400 tests per day. He said that Corona has taught us a new lifestyle. Safety and precautions are necessary to deal with Corona.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that free Corona treatment is being given in the state. Permission has been granted to private hospitals for corona treatment to people, who are financially sound and wish to undergo treatment in private hospitals. Action will be taken against hospitals, which are charging arbitrary fees and charges. He instructed the district administration to hold a meeting and take further action to determine reasonable fees. Shri Chouhan congratulated for bagging first place for the four consecutive years in cleanliness and said that all concerned will be honoured. He recalled the contribution of former Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan in the construction of Super Specialty Hospital. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan appreciated the work done for Corona control by Divisional Commissioner Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Collector Shri Manish Singh, IG, DIG besides doctors, nurses, other staff and citizens.

Addressing the programme through video conferencing, Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan extended best wishes for the construction of the Super Specialty Hospital and mentioned the role of former Speaker of Lok Sabha Smt. Sumitra Mahajan in the construction of the hospital. He said that works are being undertaken in Madhya Pradesh with sensitivity for development of health facilities. The Prime Minister’s National Health Protection Programme is being implemented effectively. He said that 14 new medical colleges are being opened in Madhya Pradesh for the expansion of medical education. Full support is also being extended to Madhya Pradesh to tackle Corona. He said that works will be undertaken to free the country from Tuberculosis by 2025. He congratulated Indore for ranking first for the fourth time in a row in the field of cleanliness and said that it will be an inspiration for other cities.

Addressing through video conferencing, Union Minister of State for Health Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey said that remarkable works are being carried out in Madhya Pradesh in the field of medical treatment. The construction of Super Specialty Hospital is a major step towards fulfilling the resolutions of Prime Minister Shri Modi. In order to control the pandemic, effective works have been undertaken to break the chain of Corona infection. The country has shown a new direction to the world under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi. Corona has been effectively controlled. He recalled former Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan’s significant contribution and role in the development of Indore and the state.

Former Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that not only Indore, but the entire state is recovering from Corona crisis due to the works being done under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. Citizens, doctors, health workers, social organizations etc. have also played an important role. He lauded all concerned for the construction of Super Specialty Hospital in record time, and said that this is a big achievement for Indore. He said that a new chapter of development is being written under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This process of development will continue. The country is being made self-reliant and strong.

Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silavat said that outstanding work has been done to control Corona pandemic in the state. Apart from being an education hub, Indore has become a major health hub. He said that this hospital should be developed as an ideal hospital in Indore.

MP Shri Shankar Lalwani said that today is a day of pride for Indore as the Super Specialty Hospital is being dedicated. This is a big achievement for Indore. Remarkable work has been done to handle Corona under the leadership of the Chief Minister. He stated the need for the upgradation of MY Hospital. He said that there is need for a Post Graduation Institute (PGI) in the field of medical education in Indore.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan dedicated the Super Specialty Hospital by cutting the ribbon. Later, he also inspected the hospital. He sought information about the medical facilities to be provided in the hospital.

The guests released the Siro Survey report in the programme. Commissioner Indore division Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma made presentation on Siro Survey Report. Dr. Sharma informed that a Siro survey was conducted in Indore city from August 11 to August 23. Under this survey, 7 thousand 103 samples were taken randomly in all 85 wards of Indore city and were tested. A report was received on the basis of this survey. The report of this sample testing revealed that the city has 7.72 percent antibodies. This shows that the control rate in Indore is good. There is need for more vigilance and protection. MLA Shri Akash Vijayvargiya gave a welcome address at the outset.

Commissioner Medical Education Shri Nishant Warvade gave an introduction and description of the project. At the end of the programme, Dr. Jyoti Bindal, Dean of MGM Medical College proposed the vote of thanks. MLAs Shri Mahendra Hardia, Smt. Malini Gaur, Shri Ramesh Mendola, Shri Krishnamurari Moghe, Shri Gaurav Randive, Shri Rajesh Sonkar, Shri Sudarshan Gupta, Shri Madhu Verma and other public representatives besides senior citizens were present at the programme.
