“Three Express Ways” will pave the way for prosperity in the state - Public Works Minister Shri Bhargava

Public Works Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava has said that the construction of the proposed three express ways will pave the way for prosperity in the state. He said this during the review meeting of Narmada Express-Way, Atal Progress-Way and Bhopal-Indore Corridor construction work in Mantralaya auditorium.

Minister Shri Bhargava said that the process of construction of 398 km long ambitious road project “Atal Progress-Way” (Chambal Expressway) has begun for the development of Gwalior-Chambal zone in the state. The construction work will be started soon. He said that in the 398 km long road, 309 km will be constructed in Madhya Pradesh, 72 km in Rajasthan and 17 km in Uttar Pradesh. The process of land acquisition and allocation of national highways for the construction of this road has been initiated.

During the review of Narmada Expressway, Minister Shri Bhargava said that all the religious and tourist places situated on “Maa-Narmada” will be connected to this 1078 km long proposed expressway. He directed that the road alignment will be decided on the basis of ‘maximum utility with minimum expenditure’ in the proposed action plan. Managing Director of Road Development Authority Shri Sriman Shukla presented six proposed options in the presentation of Narmada Expressway.

He said that the expressway will be proposed as an appropriate road from the religious, economic and social point of view. About 968 km of this expressway will pass via Madhya Pradesh and 110 km via Gujarat. All major cities, religious and tourist places and district headquarters will be connected in this route. Discussion was also held on the progress of the proposed six-lane corridor between Bhopal and Indore.

Principal Secretary Public Works Shri Neeraj Mandloi and senior national highway officials were also present in the meeting.
