Review Pradhan Mantri Awas(Urban) Project

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Singh issues instructions in review meeting

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh said that the Pradhan Mantri Awas (Urban) project should be reviewed. He said that the cost of infrastructure development works of this project should be reduced. The urban bodies concerned can do the work of infrastructure development. Shri Singh gave these instructions while reviewing the works of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Singh told to complete the works of those houses first, which are 80 to 90 percent complete. He said that the amount under one head should not be spent on another head. The amount meant for A.H.P. and B.L.C. works must be used for the same works. About 5 lakh 82 thousand 625 houses of B.L.C in 374 urban bodies of the state have been approved. Out of these, one lakh 94 thousand 214 houses have been completed and 2 lakh 44 thousand 428 are at the roof level.

Minister Shri Singh also reviewed the loan based interest subsidy scheme, LHP Indore and rent based affordable housing complex scheme.

I will personally view the waste processing plant

Reviewing the Madhya Pradesh Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Singh said that he will visit the waste processing plant. He said that works being undertaken in other states in this connection should also be studied. Shri Singh said that an action plan should be chalked out soon for waste management of cities and its implementation should be ensured in time-limit.

It was informed in the meeting that 5 lakh 71 thousand personal toilets and 18 thousand community toilets have been built under the Swachh Bharat Mission. With the aim of maintaining ODF Plus in all 378 urban bodies, the goal is to move them to ODF Plus-Plus.

Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Shri Nitesh Vyas, Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Shri Nikunj Shrivastava, Additional Commissioner Shri Mohit Bundas and other officials were present at the meeting.
