Woman and Child Development Minister takes charge

Merit holder Roshni Bhadoria of Bhind district to become Brand Ambassador of department

The Minister for Woman and Child Development Smt. Imarti Devi took charge at Mantralaya on Monday. She made announcement to make the merit holder of 10th class, Roshni Bhadoria of a small village Ajnol of Bhind district as brand ambassador of the Woman and Child Development department. Smt. Imarti Devi said that Roshni has set example that most difficult tasks can be achieved easily with passion and hard work. Roshni used to go to school by covering a distance of 12 k.m. by cycle daily. She has secured 95.5 percent marks in 10th class examination of M.P. Board of Secondary Education.

While reveiwing the department, Smt. Imarti Devi said that the amount of nutritious food now will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of the concerned self-help groups. She instructed that it should be checked that whether regular distribution of nutritious food is being done or not, how much material is received by anganwadi centres and how much is distributed in reality.

The Principal Secretary Woman and Child Development Shri Ashok Shah has informed that a fixed curriculum will be prepared for all Bal Bhavans. Along with this, after the training, the advantage of curriculum prepared for Bal Bhavan will also be extended to the children of Shelter Homes. Shri Shah further informed that as regard to the roster of the Specilaised Adoption Authority, a decision has been taken at government level to give custody of children recieved at creches under the care of the authority.

The Director Woman and Child Development Smt. Swati Meena Nayak has informed that 110 instititutions are functioning under the Integrated Child Protection scheme. About 3 thousand children aged between 0 to 18 years are residing in these institutions. These 110 institutions include 29 government and 83 non-government institutions. State has a total of 7 Bal Bhavan, where about 5474 children are being trained in various skills in the guidance of 39 teachers and trainers.
