CM Shri Chouhan to interact with street vendors in Morena on July 11

The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will interact with street vendors in Morena at 4.00 p.m. on July 11. Arrangement of live telecast of CM Shri Chouhan’s programme has been made in all 378 urban bodies. In addition, the programme will also be live telecast on Facebook live. Working capital of Rs. 10 thousand will be made available to the street vendors. Till today, an amount of Rs. 14 crore 52 lakh 50 thousand has been sanctioned to 14 thousand 525 street vendors. The working capital will be provided to the registered street vendors after the verification of their applications.

Progress of scheme

  • Total registration 8 lakh 70 thousand 330.

  • Total verified 2 lakh 96 thousand 373.

  • Total approved 2 lakh 58 thousand 402.

  • Total vending certificates issued One lakh 69 thousand 923.

  • Rs. 14 Crore 52 lakh 50 thousand sanctioned in 14 thousand 525 loan cases.

  • 22 thousand verified applications presented before banks.

Till now, over 8 lakh 70 thousand street vendors have registered on the portal. Topmost priority is being given to this ambitious scheme of street vendors by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The programme has been arranged to disseminate information about the scheme and to hear their experience. Online identity cards and vending certificates are being provided to the street vendors.

The street vendors who have registered on the portal include barbers, manufacturers of bamboo baskets, scrap dealers, blacksmiths, paan shops (Betel Leaf), cobblers, tea stalls, vegetables, flowers sellers, garment sellers, handloom and ice cream parlours, including people involved in professions of other 35 types. The scheme is being implemented in all 378 urban bodies.

Special subsidy of Rs. 1200 on digital transaction

It is to be mentioned that the business of the urban street vendors got affected in the last few months owing to the lockdown because of corona infection. The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced the Pradhan Mantri Urban Street Vendors Atma Nirbhar Fund (P.M. Swanidhi) to provide working capital to a large population of urban street vendors of the country. Under the scheme, the working capital of Rs. 10 thousand is being made available to the registered urban street vendors. Under the scheme, interest subsidy of 7 percent will be given by the centre. The remaining interest will be borne by the state government. Moreover, under the scheme, special subsidy of Rs. 1200 will be given in a year on digital transaction. Beneficiaries will be entitle for maximum 200 percent, working capital loan of total upto Rs. 20 thousand and interest subsidy on timely payment or early payment. Instructions have been given to execute agreement on stamp paper of just Rs. 50. The scheme has been launched by the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan before any other state of the country.
