भोपाल : बुधवार, जुलाई 1, 2020, 21:46 IST

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s strong pathos has rescued Madhya Pradesh from the crisis of Covid-19. The last three months are witness to how MP has survived Covid-19.

Just as the entire country respects Prime Minister Shri Modi for his farsightedness and his decisions taken to deal with Corona virus, similarly the people of the state do not hold back words of gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Chouhan for rescuing Madhya Pradesh from a m ajor crisis and move ahead on the way towards a strong economy.

It is a much known fact that in Madhya Pradesh, the footsteps of Covid-19 were heard in the beginning of March. It is a different matter that neither was there any rescue plan at the government level then nor was any such preparation for such a major big crisis was visible. After about three weeks of March, the state of Madhya Pradesh witnessed a change of power. An experienced political leader, rich in administrative abilities, with thinking aimed at the welfare of every section of the state, scholar connected to religion, spirituality and philosophy, soft-hearted Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan who had completed his successful tenure as Chief Minister of the state thrice, took charge once again as Chief Minister. At that time Corona virus was spreading its tentacles at a rapid pace.

As soon as he took charge as Chief Minister, Shri Chouhan immediately sensed all the situations with regular review and monitoring. He instructed the officers of the Health Department in the first meeting itself to make arrangements for adequate number of beds, buildings for quarantine centres, testing of virus and necessary tools and testing equipment. Order was placed for the requirement of PPE kits in the state in a hurry. Treatment of patients who were found positive began. Two major cities of the state, Indore and Bhopal, were battling with the worst crisis while the number of positive patients kept increasing rapidly. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was concerned over the rapid hike in the number of patients, He took up the cudgels. He held discussion day and night with the collectors, inquired about the arrangements being made with the senior officials and took care to remove the difficulties being faced by the people.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shri Modi decided to save the people of the country from this problem by increasing the lockdown for 15 days. Accordingly, all arrangements were ensured in Madhya Pradesh. Complaints of strictness of the police on the movement of people were reported from a few cities, but it was necessary to save people’s lives. Soon the citizens of the state also understood it.

Deaths occurring in the state from Covid-19, left Chief Minister Shri Chouhan sad and disturbed. He tried to find out the cause of each Corona death in the districts during his discussion in the video conference to the extent that the names of the areas where most cases were reported got registered in his memory. It was necessary to make arrangements in the containment areas, it was also ensured that people got essential food grains and daily use household goods. He conducted extensive district-wise reviews using information technology in full. This is the reason why Chief Minister Shri Chouhan knows how and why the Tatpatti Bakhal of Indore, Sadar of Sagar and Jehangirabad area of Bhopal became hotspots and how these areas can be redressed? Only Shri Chouhan has the ability to analyze this closely. In addition to dealing with this huge calamity, Shri Chouhan made parallel arrangements for the purchase of wheat, worrying about a large section of the farmers of the state. Concerned departments and agencies were activated. The number of purchasing centres was increased. Wheat procurement started systematically in adherence to the norms of social distancing was completed in the first week of June with a national record. As far as the welfare of the tribal brethren of the state is concerned or it is the matter of giving scholarship money to students or to take decisions related to women welfare, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan instructed the officers to do result-oriented work on every front. This brought good results. Today these decisions are proving useful in handling the economy affected by Corona in the state. Funding for online scholarships, mid-day meal amount, financial assistance to beneficiaries for various works started from birth to death under Sambal Yojana began. Foodgrain was distributed. Two months advance grain was also distributed. Migrant labourers were provided employment under MNREGA thus arranging their livelihood. Decisions were taken in the interests of other tribals including Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya tribes.

Payments to tendu patta collectors, enhancing income by giving option of working 12 hours instead of 8 to factory labourers and making welfare provisions for officers and employees were ensured to provide them relief. Madhya Pradesh has also been able to deal with the major problem of Covid-19 due to support from the central government, but the enthusiasm and passion of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan holds special signifance because he took up the responsibility of making treatment and care available to the Corona affected people round the clock while enthusing people in despair and depression.

Madhya Pradesh has been known for investments in industrial sector, good governance, organizing Panchayats for various sections and formulating new schemes for their welfare. The credit for all this goes to the impressive leadership of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan. Today, the people of the state are getting the benefit of his 13-year past experience as Chief Minister. After coming out of this crisis, Madhya Pradesh will again join the leading states of the country with a strong economy. Not only this, the people of the state now believe that the state will emerge as an exemplar in other areas also.
