The government of the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan is working on the principle of ‘Parhit Saris Dharm Nahi Bhai’ in the state. While shouldering its moral responsibilities in the corona crisis, the State government has the only objective that the citizens, especially the poor section, farmers, labourers, women and people dwelling in backward areas of the state should not face any kind of hardship,. Immediately after taking the oath of the office of the Chief Minister, Shri Shivaraj Singh Chouhan conducted review of the departments concerned and has made available all possible facilities to the citizens in the last 3 months. Shri Chouhan not only displayed the generosity by opening the state exchequer to help each section of the society in a short period but set an example by re-establishing his image as a Great Hero.

At the time when corona crisis was expanding its wings in Madhya Pradesh, Shri Chouhan took over as Head of the state. It was difficult time for Shri Chouhan, but accepting it as a challenge; he took several decisions in the welfare of the citizens and also ensured their implementation. These efforts of Shri Chouhan are still continuing.

To protect people from the infection of corona, Shri Chouhan also had to take some hard decisions, which may have been felt by the common man troublesome but the decisions proved fruitful in protecting them and the lives of their families. As the Corona crisis was spreading its boundaries, the trouble for the government was also increasing. The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gained great success in protecting Madhya Pradesh by displaying his administrative prudence without being afraid of these situations. Initiatives had been taken to tackle the corona crisis by establishing constant contact with the Cabinet Members, Public Representatives, former Chief Ministers, Religious Leaders and departmental officials.

Shri Chouhan while holding dialogues with every section of society apprised himself of the problems and also resolved them earnestly. For the first time in the history of Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Minister held 200 hours of video conferencing by using communication techniques with Farmers, MNREGA Labourers, Panchayat Representatives, Journalists, Tendupatta Pluckers, Religious Leaders, Beneficiaries of Sambal Yojana, Ffficials of the Health Department and Field Health Workers, along with Anganwadi workers and assistants as well as those who came back from clinics after from overcoming Corona.

Chief Minister Shri Shri Shivraj Singh has left no stone unturned to implement the vision of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the soil of Madhya Pradesh. The advisory of the central government, pertaining to the lockdown has been enforced strictly in the state. Along with this, in view of the unusual circumstances, steps were taken according to the specific needs of the citizens to provide financial assistance and to met necessary requirements of every section. Moving a step ahead, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has also taken steps towards building a Self-Reliant India.

Looking at the last 3 months tenure of the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, about 38 thousand crore was transferred in the accounts of 5 crore 17 lakh beneficiaries under various schemes. This amount served as a lifeline for poor section, labourers as well as farmers. Rs. 562.34 crore of social security pension, 44.60 crore for three special backward tribes, 14.81 crore under Mukhyamantri Pravasi Mazdoor Sahayata Yojana, 1862 crore under Shram Siddhi Abhiyan and MNREGA, 2981 crore under Crop Insurance Scheme, 1500 crore under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Plan of the Government of India, Rs. 263 crore to 87.49 lakh students for Mid-Day Meal Scheme and 84 crore in the accounts of the cooks under the School Education Department was paid. Similarly, Rs. 475.30 crore were given to 51 lakh students in various scholarship schemes. An amount of Rs. 24,000 crore has been given to about 16 lakh farmers against the wheat procurement. Apart from this, a sum of Rs. 2762 crore was given to about 3 lakh farmers against procurement of Gram, Mustard and Masoor. Likewise, Rs. 477 crore to tendupatta collectors, Rs. 137.41 to over 24 thousand beneficiaries of Sambal Yojana and Rs. 177 crore to about 9 lakh construction workers was paid. An amount of 36 crores was given in Pradhan Mantri Matra-Vandana Yojana. Rs. 12.27 crores in Ladli Laxmi Yojana, 8.24 crores in Chief Minister Discretionary Fund, 82.41 crores for urban areas and 451 crores for rural areas in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was given. Rs.6 crore to the priests of temples under the government control by Adhyatm department and the power consumers are getting Rs.623 crore. Apart from this,an amount of Rs. 35 crore has been granted for distribution of medicines and Kadha under the Jeevan Amrut Yojana. In other schemes, Rs. 70 crore in Panch Parmeshwar Yojana, Rs. 120.96 crore for providing food grains to destitute and migrant labourers, besides allocation of Rs. 21 crore to districts for managing relief camps of the labourers of other states, who reached the state owing to the corona crisis and Rs. 47 crore was given for transportation arrangements of migrant labourers. Along with this, arrangements were made for supply of food grains and advance ration to consumers. A total of 7.71 lakh metric tonnes wheat and rice were distributed. The state government allocated an amount of 1555 crore under the Panch Parmeshwar Yojana and Rs 330 crore to the urban bodies in the 15th Finance Commission. Similarly, an amount of Rs. 2.46 crore was given by the Department of Adhyatm for the renovation of temples.

In the month of May, another serious problem was faced by the state, when labourers went to work in other states started reaching Madhya Pradesh in large number together. Anticipating the seriousness of the problem, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan made arrangements at large scale for transportation, food, water, medical and tents for the labourers reached on the borders of the state. Due to the activeness and sensitivity of the administrative staff, about 14.98 lakh migrant labourer were ferried safely to their home districts. Along with this, the workers of other provinces who wanted to go through Madhya Pradesh to their provinces, the state government also brought them at the expense of their state. Along with this, the state government also ferried the labourers of other states, who wanted to go through Madhya Pradesh to their states at its expense. The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has also launched Shram Siddhi Yojana for the labourers returned to the state, not only job cards of the labourers are being prepared under the MNREGA but also employment is being provided to them at local level. Taking a step further, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan took the initiative to provide employment as per the skill of migrant labourers by creating Rozgar Setu portal in the state. Through this portal, employers and workers have been facilitated with direct contact with each other. Till now, 20 thousand employers have registered on the portal and more than 6 thousand needy labourers have also been provided employment. The specialty of this Rozgar Setu Portal is that workers are getting employment according to their skills. The efforts of the government paved a way for hope and confidence in every section of the society.
