Black spots should be rectified at the earliest possible

AIG Shri Sharma chairs state level road safety cell meeting

The nodal department related to road safety should provide information about public awareness campaign to reduce road accidents at the state level in the lead agency office. Construction agencies should ensure process of rectification at the black spots. This instruction was given by Assistant Inspector General of Police Shri Prashant Sharma in the meeting of State Level Road Safety Cell. A review related to the preparations of the upcoming State Road Safety Council and State Road Safety Implementation Committee meeting was conducted at the Police Training and Research Institute.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police said that each construction agency should conduct rectification of at least 3 black spots every month. They must give the report of the third party audit including physical verification of black spots. Action should also be taken to nominate officers of the concerned departments for training. He said that mapping of all government and private ambulances should be done at the earliest. So far, information in this regard has been received from only 27 districts. Instructions were given to the transport department to submit information about the suspension of driving licenses after March. Also, in case of serious road accidents, a case investigation’s follow-up report should be sent. The nodal officers of the concerned departments attended the meeting, following social distancing.
