Raj Bhavan is becoming Model of Atmanirbharta

Governor peruses digital issue of News Letter ‘Pravah’

भोपाल : रविवार, जून 7, 2020, 19:49 IST

The Governor Shri Lalji Tandon perused new issue of Raj Bhavan's newsletter 'Pravah' today. He said that activities like farming, horticulture, animal husbandry and waste management conducted in Raj Bhavan should be compiled in the forthcoming issue. This will inspire and encourage the common people to adopt this model of self-reliance.

Shri Tandon said that Raj Bhavan has achieved self-reliance in farming, horticulture, animal husbandry and waste management. Vegetable, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Organic Budget Farming has evolved practical form of high production, low cost chemical fertilizer and pesticide effect free production method. Now all the requirements of milk, vegetables, fertilizers and pesticide products of Raj Bhavan are being fulfilled by the products of Raj Bhavan's premises. Similarly, rural families with agriculture can also become self-reliant by rearing cattle and producing organic fertilizer and pesticides. They can increase their income more than double. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides are extremely harmful for both land and health. Their use should be discontinued. Many types of organic fertilzers and pesticides manufactured by waste are being used in farming in Raj Bhavan. The use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers has been banned in the Raj Bhavan.

Moreover, Shri Tandon said that that the work of breed improvement is also being done speedily at the Gau-shala of Raj Bhavan. General public should also be informed about this. Indigenous cows give milk three to four liters daily for three-four months in a year. Cows with milk production of 10 to 12 liters daily for a period of 8 to 10 months in a year can be produced by transplanting embryos of advanced breed Indian cows. In this direction, the Raj Bhavan has taken successful initiative in its Gau-shala. In the Gau-shala of Raj Bhawan, embryos of Rathi, the cow of Rajasthan's high milk producing breed has been transplanted into Malvi cows of indigenous breed. The calves born from these will become high milk producing cows of advance breed. He further informed that indigenous breed can be transformed into advance breed in three years cycle. By expanding this work, significant contribution can be made in strengthening the economy of the state.
