2 crore food packets and 3.64 lakh quintal of food grains have been distributed – Minister Shri Rajput

Central Food Minister reviewed through video conferencing

So far, 3,64,700 quintal food grains have been distributed from the SDRF head to the migrant/stranded migrant labor in the state. Food Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput shared this information to Central Food Minister Shri Ram Vilas Paswan. Shri Paswan was reviewing the distribution of food grains allocated to the states in the State Disaster Relief Fund through video conferencing with the food ministers of the states.

Food Minister Shri Rajput informed that 2.02 crore food packets and 83 lakh food grain packets have been made available to 1,88,000 people in the state so far. Toll free food help line is continuously working in the state from April 1st to provide food to the needy by the state government. In the video conferencing, Principal Secretary Food Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla gave information about food allocation and distribution system.

Highlight for Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Yojana

Minister Shri Rajput informed about the 'Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Yojana' of the Central Government that the selection of migrant/stranded migrant labor under this scheme will be completed by May 31st through the mobile app. Information of beneficiary's name, overall ID, Aadhaar number etc. is also being collected through the Gram Panchayat and the urban body. Allotment and distribution of food grains will be made by displaying them on POS machines at fair price shops (uchit mulya ki dukaan).

10 lakh migrant laborers of the state who worked in other states, out of which 9.5 lakh laborers have come back to Madhya Pradesh. The state government has made extensive facilities available to bring back the workers with priority. Similarly, out of 40,000 labor of other states, about 20,000 labor are still residing in Madhya Pradesh. He informed that food grains distribution will be started in the month of June as soon as the identification process is completed.

One Nation - One Ration Card Scheme

Appreciating the Union Government's One Nation - One Ration Card Scheme, the Food Minister said that through this ambitious scheme, ration card holders can take ration from their ration card anywhere in the country. He said that if this scheme was implemented before then, there would have been be no problem of food grains in any disaster.

Mr. Rajput informed that under the system of inter-state portability, ration was received by 3,39,951 beneficiaries in the state. So far, Aadhaar seeding has been done in the database of 70 percent beneficiaries. Seeding work will be completed by 31st December this year.
