CM Shri Chouhan uses technology for interaction and solution

81 video conferences- 149 hours interaction
Make extensive use of social media too

After the decision of lockdown by the Central Government, establishing good governance in the state following the social distance in the hour of crisis was a big challenge before the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Shri Chouhan who has a long governing experience to his credit accepted this challenge and made the National Informatics Centre and social media the medium to address the crisis. Shri Chouhan communicated with different sections for a total of 149 hours through 81 video conferences. Under this arrangement, Shri Chouhan established a medium of communication among himself, officials and the people of the state. With the latest technology, better and continuous communication is being established between the government and the general public.

Shri Chouhan has also made optimum use of social media by adopting all means of communication. He posted 58 videos on his Facebook account, 58 on Twitter as well as more than 108 videos on Facebook from March 23 till date and held direct discussion with the people of Madhya Pradesh through 22 live events. Along with this, his reach on Facebook became about 8 crore, 13 lakh impressions were received on Facebook handle every day and 23 lakh impressions were received on Twitter. Apart from this, more than 125 videos related to the important decisions and guidelines taken by the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan regarding prevention of Corona Crisis and other arrangements have been posted on the CMO's Facebook account since March 23, which has reach of about 4 crore 65 lakh including other posts. Impressions on the account during this period were around 14.2 million. Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has emerged in the digital arena as a great warrior in the battle against Corona. With the information being released on the social media account of the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan and the decisions of public interest, his Facebook and Twitter accounts are also becoming very popular among the people.

Shri Chouhan is making full use of information and communication technology with his efficient administrative experience and insight to handle the Corona pandemic. A team of NIC is actively working in this direction. Shri Mayank Nagar, Senior Technical Director, NIC informed that the NIC has ensured quick communication with social distancing through video conferencing arrangements for the officers of different divisions and districts.

The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has held dialogue with people from every section of the state through video conferencing. Apart from in touch with his officials through 81 VCs in this difficult time, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has also taken several appropriate steps using technology every day by holding discussions with Departmental Heads, Divisional Commissioners, Collectors, Superintendents of Police, Government Officials, NGOs, Doctors, Media Representatives as well as Police Officers, Industrialists, Religious Leaders, Farmers, Patients recovered from Corona disease and people benefitted under various schemes of the government.

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan through e-payment portal of the NIC made payment to the labourers stranded in other states, cooks of mid-day meal scheme, scholarships to students and payment of food security allowance. Taking into account the status of Covid-19, Shri Chouhan also took many decisions in the public interest in video conferencing, including the decision to start Jeevan Amrut Yojana, Jeevan Shakti Yojana, job card scheme for migrant labourers. Along with this, an amount of 6 thousand 489 crore was transferred to the account of the beneficiaries under various schemes. Shri Chouhan also reviewed the procurement of wheat, gram and red lentil (Masoor) being procured from the farmers at support price through video conferencing on a daily basis, as a result of which a record of wheat procurement has been set in the state in a short period. Besides wheat procurement, timely payment to farmers was also ensured.

Apart from the Chief Minister, the National Informatics Center (NIC), which is acting as a communication bridge in the Corona Crisis, was also used by the Chief Secretary of the State, Shri Iqbal Singh Bains. He has held online meetings with officials for 53 hours through 38 video conferencing. At the same time, Health, Food, Cooperatives, Medical Education, Forest, Finance Departments also reviewed the works being done to prevent Covid-19 using video conferencing and video calling technology.
