Uttar Pradesh’s labourers sent by 100 buses

Return of labourers stranded in other states continues

On the very first day of the announcement of the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, that 'Every labourer who enters the border of Madhya Pradesh on foot, will be sent to the border of the state by vehicles after providing him/her the free food, water and shelter', thousands of labourers from Maharashtra who entered the border from Bijasan of Madhya Pradesh were sent to Dewas by 100 buses. Now these labourers while availing the facilities arranged by the Dewas administration will reach the border of their home state, the Uttar Pradesh.

Similarly, the return of workers stranded in other states due to corona pandemic is continuing. So far 50 trains have reached Madhya Pradesh from different states. About 60 thousand labourers have been brought to the state. Likewise, about the one lakh 74 thousand labourers return by road. The labourers coming to the state border from Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra by buses have been sent to the districts and to the borders of other states.

About 40 thousand labourers have been sent to Agar, Neemuch, Guna and Sheopur border by the buses of the Transport Corporation by the Rajasthan government. Arrangements have been made by the state government to sent them to various districts of the state. During the last 10 days, 7 to 8 thousand labourers are reaching Alirajpur and Jhabua border daily. More than 70 buses every day are being plied to sent them to different districts.

For the labourers coming from Maharashtra, more than 100 buses are put in service from the Sendhwa border for the last 10 days to carry the labourers to different districts. More than 25 buses are plied in Sagar, which are ferrying the labourers to various districts of Bundelkhand as well as Malthon and Lalitpur. As many as 20 buses in Chhatarpur, 15 in Seoni and 20 in Balaghat are continuously ferrying the labourers. Apart from this, 3 thousand students have been repatriated from Kota by sending 150 buses.

The State Government has made the arrangement more effective from May 12. Apart from the buses already operated in various districts, 375 new buses have been arranged. Arrangements have been ensured for food, temporary accommodation, drinking water, medical treatment and transportation of the labourers in all the districts.

Barwani

Barwani Collector Shri Amit Tomar informed that such labourers who are entering the border of Madhya Pradesh from Maharashtra by their own vehicles are being sent after providing them food-water-and shelter facility. Such labourers, who are entering the border of Madhya Pradesh on foot from Maharashtra are being sent to Dewas by buses acquired for the purpose of transportation after providing them free facility of shelter-water-food-health test. From where these labourers will reach the border of their state Uttar Pradesh.

Labourers, who will enter the border of Madhya Pradesh on foot at night, will be provided proper facility for accommodation, food and water by putting them in the huge shed in the premises of Badi Bijasan Temple. After serving food to them in the morning, they will be sent to Dewas by bus. This work will continue till then the labourers from Maharashtra will keep coming on foot.

The Collector further informed that similarly, the labourers of our districts who have gone to other states for work are coming to Meghnagar, Ratlam, Bhopal, Itarsi, Shajapur, Khandwa railway stations taking advantage of the train facility provided by the government. They are also being brought to the districts by providing bus facility. They are being sent to their homes by buses after providing free food-water and health tests. He said that so far 5157 labourers came by train have been sent to their homes by 166 buses. This work is ongoing continuously, he added.
