Amendments in Labour laws’ initiative will prove revolutionary, Needy connected to schemes

Just MNREGA is providing employment to 13.64 lakh people
CM Shri Chouhan sought information on action recommended by Committee

The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan held discussions with the Officers today at Mantralaya in context to the recommendations of the Committee constituted to handle the economic crisis in the state. He sought information on actions taken on sector wise recommendations. Shri Chouhan said that the Corona crisis has hit the economy very hard. Keeping this in view, amendments have been made in several laws related to the factories in Madhya Pradesh. This step is revolutionary in a sense because this step will boost new investment in the state and will directly help in emerging from the corona crisis. The Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri Anurag Jain and Shri Manoj Govil were present at the meeting.

Important steps to provide economic support

Along with providing employment to the needy and making concessional provisions for the industries, the state government has formulated the Jeevan Shakti Yojana to link women with activities like mask manufacturing. These efforts will be made continuously. The aim is to provide financial support to every section of the society. It was informed in the meeting of the committee today that the recommendations related to agriculture sector, M.S.M.E. and the banking sector have been made and the Government of India has been requested to accept them.

Workers, farmers, women avail benefits

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, while discussing the recommendations of the committee set up to deal with the economic crisis, said that work under MNREGA is being made available to 13.64 lakh workers of the state. This is a major achievement of the state. Apart from this, the Water Resources and Public Works Department has started about one thousand works. Deendayal Rasoi is being run for free food arrangements in poor slums of urban areas. Payment of social security pension has been made. Assistance of Rs one thousand has been provided to 6,885 workers stranded in other states and two installments of Rs one thousand has been provided to 8.85 lakh construction workers. Scholarship amount was also given to the students. Amendments have been made in the Mandi Act and many labour laws. About 10 lakh metric tonne of fertilizer has been made available for the Kharif season. Rs 510 crore has been paid to insurance companies in advance.

Around 47,000 workers are working in the health care and pharmaceutical sectors. Orders have also been issued for starting units in Audyogik Parks and Industrial Parks. Nutritious food is being supplied through women groups. For this, 5 plants are working in the state. The Energy Department has postponed the recovery of permanent charges of the dues. It was decided to provide one-time assistance of Rs. 10,000 to doctors and health workers engaged in the service of Covid -19 patients.
