Awareness campaign should continue

Citizens should be alert in containment areas, seek help of public representatives
Instructions issued to make long-term plans

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan conducted a detailed review of the status of Corona in the state, treatment management and lockdown in a video conference at Mantralaya. Shri Chouhan said that Corona control is the biggest priority in the state. Positive cases must recover, besides testing and treatment should be completed with seriousness. The work of generatng public awareness must be continued. Special attention must be paid in the containment areas. Under no circumstances should the virus chain be allowed to form. This chain must be broken. Effective efforts should be made to control the virus in consultation with public representatives.

Collectors must provide passes to outsiders and allow them to leave

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that detailed instructions are being sent to districts regarding issuing of passes to persons who wish to go out of the state. Similarly, those who wish to return to Madhya Pradesh from other states should also be provided necessary facilities in the districts. It was informed in the meeting that people have left for their states from Ujjain and other places in Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that people who wish to go from Madhya Pradesh must be given permission simultaneously so that it does not get crowded. People coming from outside should be screened.

Detailed information of three districts sought

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that vigilance is needed in every district to break the link of the virus. Shri Chouhan also sought detailed information about the situation in Burhanpur, Mandsaur and Neemuch districts of the state. It was informed at the meeting that 12 containment areas have been set up in Burhanpur where 24 survey teams are working. District administration is making various arrangements

after holding discussions with social workers and religious leaders. The Superintendent of Police said that lockdown is being strictly followed in all police station areas. Similarly, the work of disease control is going well in Mandsaur. In Mandsaur, 240 persons are placed under home quarantine and 419 persons under institutional quarantine. Crisis Management Group meetings are also being held regularly. In Neemuch also, necessary measures have been taken with the help of public representatives. Public awareness is increasing and the number of serious patients has come down. The number of positive patients is also on the decline.

Additional Chief Secretary Health Shri Mohammad Suleman said that till May 5, 3049 cases have been reported in the state among whom 1873 are active. One thousand people have recovered completely. There are a total of 805 containment areas in 35 districts of the state with over 17 lakh population in these areas. Around 5,000 people are in institutional isolation. With these arrangements, virus control is becoming easier. As many as 3143 survey teams working in the state have helped raise public awareness. The situation in Bhopal and Indore city is also improving.

Testing capacity will increase

Principal Secretary Medical Education Shri Sanjay Shukla informed that the testing facility will increase in 4 districts this week with the arrival of new equipment. At present, about 3000 people are being tested daily in the state which will soon be between 3700 and 4000.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that district collectors should seriously work on three points. He instructed that the virus should be identified soon, the work of taking samples should be paced up and staff in hospitals should be deployed for proper treatment.

Long term plans should also be made

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in view of Covid-19 experience, a long term plan should also be prepared in the health sector in the state. This should include essential arrangements for hospital management, doctors and paramedical staff, ICU and emergency treatment.

Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri were present in the meeting.
