In a meeting held with the Senior Police officers, the Minister for Home, Public Health and Family Welfare Dr. Narottam Mishra while expressing consent to principally approve designations to the police personnel working in higher payscale directed the Director General of the Police to submit a proposal in this regard. He also instructed to begin a help-desk to help families of the martyrs’ police personnel and other deceased police staff. Dr. Mishra said that Corona has affected our daily routine. We have to make our preparations accordingly and work by making the necessary strategy. Before the meeting, Dr. Mishra and Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri paid tribute to the police personnel who laid their lives in the battle against Corona.

Dr. Mishra said that the attitude of the common man towards the police has changed during the Corona pandemic. The general public has wholeheartedly appreciated the sincerity, concentration and decency with which the police department acted in this Corona crisis. The police personnel made their special place in the hearts of the public while working for their safety during the lockdown period. There is a need to work for the welfare of the policemen to encourage them in this difficult time. The Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri said that more than 6 thousand policemen are actively working in various containment zones of the state. Inspectors Shri Devendra Kumar Chandravanshi and Shri Yashwant Pal, Sub Inspector Shri Mayaram Kharadi and Constable Shri Tinku Rawat have sacrificed their lives in the battle against Corona. He said that at present, 86 police personnel and 5 Home Guard jawans, a total of 91 employees are infected with Corona and are undergoing treatment.

Welfare process to be started from bottom

Minister Dr. Mishra said that the process of welfare of policemen will begin from bottom to top. Necessary action should be taken promptly to take decision on promotion of police personnel. He also sought suggestions from the top officers of the department. He said that the problems of the families of the Martyrs and other deceased police personnel will be resolved through help-desk.

Corona warriors to be honoured

Minister Dr. Mishra lauded the courage and diligence of the officers and staff of the police department in dealing with the Corona war. He said that all those policemen who render their services for thirty days in the battle against Corona will be honoured with Karmaveer Medal.

Dial 100 to register FIRs at doorsteps

Dr. Mishra said that the police department will work one step-up under the process of reforms. Dial 100 FRV (First Response Vehicle) will visit homes and register FIRs on the complaints of the people. Necessary steps are being taken for this soon. Dial 100 will register FIR in normal cases except in most serious cases. Soon the public will get this facility that they will not have to visit the police station to register an FIR.

All the Officers of Additional Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police level were present at the meeting.
