Even in Corona crisis, needy should get jobs on a wide scale in the coming quarter

CM Shri Chouhan issues instructions to officers through video conferencing

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a discussion through video conferencing on the vast possibilities of employment in urban and rural areas in the next 3 months to provide relief to the needy after the Corona problem subsides. Shri Chouhan said that due to Corona infection virus, the lives of daily wagers in urban and rural areas have been greatly affected. The Chief Minister said that this is a challenge, it has to be turned into an opportunity. A new path of development has to be made in the state.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan instructed the officials that after the end of the lock-down situation, it will be very necessary to start providing jobs to the workers. For this, rural development, urban development, public works, forest and other departments should prepare a blueprint for conducting various works in villages and cities. Shri Chouhan instructed the Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Shri Manoj Shrivastava to apprise the estimated number of workers to be linked with employment in this regard. The Chief Minister said that in the next quarter of May, June, July, work should be done to connect the people interested in employment with various economic activities. It’s necessary preparations should be completed this week. An action plan should be implemented as a campaign to increase employment. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains and Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri Anurag Jain were present in the meeting.

Work must not be stopped in unaffected areas

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that there should be no restriction on construction work and movement of workers in rural areas that are free from Corona problem. In the event of not being a containment area, workers including MNREGA workers should be allowed to move for work even before the lockdown ends. Necessary instructions should be sent to districts in this regard. Persons infected with the disease must not be permitted to come to construction and work place. The operations should be conducted with full caution. Arrangements must be made in the villages as to provide employment to maximum needy persons through works like bunding, tree plantation etc.

Comprehensive employment prospects in agriculture and non-agriculture sector

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that apart from agriculture, there is a lot of potential for employment generation in non-agriculture sector also. The Chief Minister discussed in detail the various works to be performed under MNREGA and the possibilities of generating employment from them. Along with procurement of wheat, gram and mustard in the agricultural sector, Shri Chouhan sought activities of fruit procurement centres, grading and packaging, tuar and moong processing, Krishi Sakhi, Pashu Sakhi drive, vegetable supply and milk production through Aajivika Fresh, details of animal husbandry activities, and employment prospects. The Chief Minister also obtained information about the activities conducted in the districts under Aajivika Gatividhi. Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Shrivastava informed that the activities of 44 production companies and the possibilities of employment generation in Kodo-Kutki project in Sidhi and Singrauli districts, dairy expansion programme in Chhatarpur, Shivpuri, Sheopur and Guna, agricultural extension work in nine tribal districts, promotion of milk production and aggregation of agricultural produce have been studied. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan issued directions for implementation in this regard.

Make work plan for large-scale textile and uniform supply to women

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that women are a big force in rural areas. Many jobs employing them can be started. In particular, action should be taken in the direction of setting up Mata ki Rasoi. Under this, the work efficiency of women can be used. A plan should also be prepared for the work of manufacturing masks and other protective equipment and for the preparation of clothes for infants. The responsibility of supply of uniforms can be given to women. Self-help groups can take up this work easily. The Chief Minister described the initial entrepreneurship program in the state as a great medium to help women overcome economic difficulties after the Corona crisis.

Shri Chouhan instructed to realize the possibilities of employment in a large scale in the area of making masks and sanitary napkins for women members. The Chief Minister told to submit report soon after studying the possibilities of the work of preparing uniforms for students in the entrepreneurship programme. Shri Chouhan also held discussion on working on other activities in the non-agricultural sector.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan sought information about the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojana, Mukhyamantri Gram Sarovar Yojana, Watershed Development and possible employment of workers in the works of Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority. Apart from this, new possibilities of employment were also discussed through the activities of Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Panch Parmeshwar Yojana, Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and other economic upgradation activities. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also inquired about the increase in the number of people associated with the mid-day meal programme.

Mahua procurement work must commence on time

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan instructed Principal Secretary Forest Shri Ashok Varnawal that on April 25, purchase of Mahua at minimum support price and necessary facilities should be provided to the forest dwellers. Necessary information should also be given to the people collecting mahua by spreading this arrangement widely. Shri Chouhan instructed the Forest Department to provide employment to the needy also on priority through work like tendu patta plucking, construction of forest ways, reviving degraded forests etc.

Principal Secretary Urban Development Shri Sanjay Dubey and Principal Secretary Public Works Department Shri Malay Srivastava also informed about the possibilities of generating employment for the needy people in the next three months in the video conference.
