Corona situation is improving in state: Chief Minister Shri Chouhan

CM reviews situation and arrangements of Corona in the state

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the situation of Corona is constantly improving in the state. A large number of infected patients are recovering and returning home. Till yesterday, 31 infected patients in Bhopal and 71 infected patients in Indore have recovered and returned home. Similarly, now there is not a single local Covid positive patient in Gwalior and Shivpuri. Reports of 193 samples of Bhopal have come negative yesterday. More than 50 percent of the districts of the state are completely free from Corona. Shri Chouhan was reviewing the situation and arrangements of Corona in the state through video conference in Mantralaya today. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri, Additional Chief Secretary Health Shri Mohammad Suleman were present in the meeting.

No Corona positive since 13 days in Shivpuri, Chhindwara and Gwalior

It was informed in the meeting that not a single person tested Corona positive in Shivpuri, Chhindwara and Gwalior districts since last 13 days. Similarly, not a single Corona test has come positive since 9 days in Vidisha, 8 days in Morena, and in Tikamgarh for the last 5 days. Conditions are improving in the districts.

Information sought from Dr. Bhandari and Dr. Goenka

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan sought information for Dr. Vinod Bhandari and Dr. Ajay Goenka and inquired about the treatment of patients. Dr. Bhandari told that T.I. Shri Devendra Chandravanshi was admitted very late to the hospital. His lungs were highly infected when he was admitted. On 16 April, his Corona test came negative, but then suddenly his health started deteriorating and he passed away. Dr. Goenka said that the patients get well when treatment starts early, but problem occurs in coming to the hospital too late.

Samples of all high risk individuals taken

Additional Chief Secretary Health Shri Mohammad Suleman said that there are a total of 453 infected areas in the state, inhabited by about 22 lakh people. As many as 2623 teams are conducting intensive survey work. So far 20.5 lakh persons have been surveyed. During the survey, 12 thousand 938 high risk individuals were identified and their samples have been taken. Further action is being taken on the basis of the report.

1800 tests in 11 labs

Now 11 labs are working for Corona testing in the state and a capacity of about 18 hundred tests has been created per day. Total 1578 samples were taken yesterday, 52 of which were found to be Corona positive. Testing facility has been started at Chirayu Hospital and will also start at Eicher Hospital by tomorrow.

Full attention must be paid to the security of police personnel

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed the Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri to take full care of the security of police personnel deployed in the work of prevention of Covid-19 infection. They are engaged in Corona related work day and night. All necessary facilities, masks, sanitizers etc. should be made available to them. Shri Johri informed that about 3,000 police forces are engaged in Corona work in the state.

Ensure strict compliance of lockdown

The Chief Minister, while getting information from the officers in charge for the Corona related arrangements in the districts, directed that they should ensure strict compliance of lock down and social distancing in the districts under their charge. Shri Chandrasekhar, Shri D.P. Ahuja, Shri Neeraj Mandloi, Smt. Deepali Rastogi, Shri Kavindra Kiyawat etc. informed the Chief Minister about the Corona related arrangements in the districts under their charge.

Grocery shops should not open for short time

The Chief Minister directed that grocery shops related to essential items should not be opened for a short time. This can cause crowd at the stores. These shops should be open for 10 to 12 hours. Also, shops of agricultural equipments etc. should be kept open.

Collectors must ensure strict arrangements for screening at the border of districts

Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Shrivastava informed that a large number of labourers who have gone out of the state are returning to the borders of the state since the last 3-4 days. The Chief Minister directed that the concerned Collectors should ensure complete arrangement of their screening etc.

1.5 lakh metric tonnes of wheat purchased from 65 thousand farmers

Principal Secretary Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla informed that 3500 centers are operational in the state for procurement. So far, 1.5 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been purchased from 65 thousand farmers. Farmers are being called by S.M.S. and procurement work is in progress while following complete social distancing. The Chief Minister directed that arrangements should be made for screening of farmers at the procurement centers and health tests as required.

Small traders must be encouraged

The Chief Minister directed that small traders should be encouraged to supply essential commodities like grocery. It was informed that the exemptions given earlier for e-commerce vehicles have been revoked except for essential items during lock down.

Wheat of farmers must not be sold at low rate

During the review of the sale of wheat etc. in the mandis and outside, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gave instructions that the officers should ensure that the wheat of the farmers is not sold at low prices. They should constantly monitor this. It was reported that 81percent of the wheat sold in the mandis has been purchased directly from farmers by traders through deal sheets outside the mandi and farmers have received more than the minimum support price.

Genome sequencing of Corona virus to be done

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Health told that samples of Corona virus will be taken from Indore and other places in the state and their genome sequencing will be done. This will make clear what type of Corona it is. This will aid in the treatment of Corona. Samples will be sent to the National Institute of Virology Pune for this.
