State’s economy will revive with the cooperation of industries: CM Shri Chouhan

Enterprise must be started by strictly following the guidelines
Chief Minister holds discussion with industrial representatives in video conference

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said to the industrial representatives of the state that with your cooperation, the economy of the state will be restored. Shri Chouhan said that strictly following the guidelines issued by the Government of India, the industries listed in it should be start operating from April 20. He said that it should be kept in mind that no labourers from the infected areas should come to work. All protective measures such as masks, sanitizers etc. should be used at work areas. As far as possible, arrangements should be made for the workers to stay at the work place. Shri Chouhan was holding discussion with the industrial representatives of the state in a video conference in Mantralaya. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri, Principal Secretary Industries Shri Rajesh Rajora, Director Public Relations Shri O.P. Srivastava was present in the conference.

Effective strategy for prevention and treatment of Corona

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that an effective strategy is being worked out for prevention and treatment of Corona in the state. There are 9 test labs working continuously in the state. The state’s testing capacity is increasing continuously. Testing samples are also being sent to Delhi in a special aircraft. Survey of about 4 lakh persons has been conducted in Indore. The best arrangements for treatment are being ensured. With the cooperation of all, we will defeat Corona soon.

PPE kits of Madhya Pradesh are of high quality

The Chief Minister told the entrepreneurs that PPE kits made by them in Madhya Pradesh are of best quality. You deserve congratulations for this. He told that today about 10 thousand kits are being made in the state every day. Hydroxy-chloroquine tablets are being made in many of our factories.

Suggestions are important

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan told the industrial representatives that the suggestions given by them are important. You will be given every possible facility in the operation of industries by following the guidelines. It must be ensured that Corona infection does not spread at all in the operation of industries. Corona infection must be controlled while running the industry.

Lodging arrangement for labourers

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan asked the industrial representatives to ensure lodging arrangements for the labourers at the work place itself as far as possible. If at all commuting to and fro is necessary, then they must be seated in vehicles with social distancing and this should be taken care of at the workplace as well.

Permission will be given

The Chief Minister said that the industries will get the necessary permissions to run the industries from April 20 soon. Along with this, passes will also be received by the Department of Industries in collaboration with the district administration for commuting to and from the workplace.

More wages in case of overtime

Shri Chouhan said that keeping in view the shortage of labourers, permission will be given to industry, if anyone wants to run shift of 12 hours instead of 8 hours, but they will have to give increased amount to the labourers accordingly. Also, 6 days work will be permitted in place of 5. Industry license renewal will also be done for one year from April 2020. Minimum capacity criteria can be terminated for this year.

Adopt all protective measures

The Principal Secretary Industry Dr. Rajesh Rajoura said that during the lockdown, 112 large and 1200 M.S.M.E. Industries related to pharmaceutical, food items and essential commodities were functioning in the state. Now, from April 20, according to the guidelines of the Government of India, about 200 industries out of the total 360 major industries of the state will be started and about 6 thousand out of 12 thousand MSME industries will start functioning. Dr. Rajoura told delegates that enterprises of essential services including SEZ, export industries, industrial sector industries, rural sector industries can be started. Start the industry with all protective measures. Full care must be taken that the infection should not spread. There should be no more than 40 to 50 percent labourers in industries. Labourers should be accommodated at the industry premises as far as possible. Only 30 to 40 percent of a bus capacity should be used to bring them. No industry will start in the infected areas and no labourer will come from there to work. People suffering from cold & cough, diabetes patients over 55 years of age, BP patients, women with having small children should not come to work. There should be arrangements for soaps, sanitizers, masks, gloves, thermal screenings at the prmises. The distance of the workers at the work site should be 8 to 10 feet. Enterprises should be sanitized at opening, closing and lunch time in the afternoon. Put up a list of hospitals at the workplace, where treatment facilities are available.

Important suggestions given by industrialists

The representatives of the industry Shri Ravi Jhunjhunwala, Shri Rajendra Gupta, Shri Anurag Shrivastava (CII), Shri S. Chowdhary, Shri Dinesh Patidar (Shakti Pumps) Shri Siddharth Sethi, (Infobion), Sushri Shirish Goyal (M.S.M.E.), Shri R.S. Goswami, (Hind Pharma), Shri Aditya Shrivastava (Volvo Eicher), Shri Siddharth Agarwal (Sagar Industry), Shri Akhilesh Rathi (President, Textile Mills Association), Shri Arun Soni (Laghu Udyog Bharti) gave important suggestions at the video conferencing. Praising the efforts of the Chief Minister and Government for protection from Coronavirus and treatment they expressed gratitude towards them. They suggested that workers should be given written permission to come to the factory. Electricity bill payment should be postponed for a month or two and permission should be given to run 12 hours shifts in place of 8 hours and 6 days work should be allowed instead of 5 days. ESI Hospitals should be strengthened for labourers. Transporters should be assured that they will not face any problem in movement. Courier services should be started so that the containers can be transported. The government should support liquidity and reduce power charges. They should get exemption in Mandi tax on Tuar Dal.
