Rs 70 lakh transferred to 7 thousand workers stranded in other states in Madhya Pradesh
Rs 1000 given to each labourer on the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan

On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Relief amount of Rs 70 lakh has been transferred to 7 thousand migrant workers of 22 states trapped in Madhya Pradesh in their accounts due to the lockdown. These include 245 unregistered construction workers of Madhya Pradesh. An amount of Rs one thousand has been sent to each labourer belonging to other states trapped in Madhya Pradesh for meeting their daily needs. The Chief Minister has said that they should not worry. The Government of Madhya Pradesh will take full care of them. The Madhya Pradesh government is making all arrangements for their food, housing etc.
The transfer of funds was done through single click by Principal Secretary Labour Shri Ashok Shah. The information of migrant workers has been collected through a special survey by the Department of Labour. At present, there are 7 thousand migrant workers from 22 states in Madhya Pradesh, including 1769 of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar 1366, Jharkhand 1030, West Bengal 725, Chhattisgarh 324, Gujarat 266 and 220 workers from Rajasthan. There is also a labourer from Nepal. An amount of Rs one thousand has also been transferred to 245 construction workers of Madhya Pradesh who have not been registered.
