Kunwar Vijay Shah

Kunwar Vijay Shah was born on November 1, 1962. An MA, Kunwar Vijay Shah is a farmer by profession. He has special interest in swimming, trekking, horse riding, public welfare works, tourism and sightseeing.

Kunwar Vijay Shah became active in students politics and social work at an early age. He worked on various posts of Indore Christian College’s students union. He led youths in various creative works and activities while being associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad for over 10 years. During students politics, Kunwar Vijay Shah also conducted college elections at Indore.

Kunwar Vijay Shah was elected to 9th Vidhan Sabha on Bharatiya Janata Party’s ticket from Harsud Vidhan Sabha constituency in Khandwa district in year 1990. He was re-elected to Vidhan Sabha from Harsud by a massive margin in 1993. He established his image as an active, articulate MLA. During the period, he was nominated as member of Vidhan Sabha’s Delegation Committee, Library Committee, Advisory Committee, Tourism Department, Estimates Committee, Regulation Committee and Rehabilitation Department.

Kunwar Vijay Shah was elected for the third time to 11th Vidhan Sabha in1998 and fourth time to 12th Vidhan Sabha in 2003 from Harsud.

He became Minister for the first time in Sushri Uma Bharti’s Council of Ministers on June 28, 2004. He became Minister again in Shri Babulal Gaur’s Council of Ministers on August 27, 2004.

Kunwar Vijay Shah was included in Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Council of Ministers on December 4, 2005. He was elected to 13th Vidhan Sabha for the 5th time from Harsud in 2008 and became a Minister in Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Council of Ministers. He was elected to 14th Vidhan Sabha from Harsud constituency in December 2013. He took oath as Cabinet Minister on December 21, 2013.
