Gokul Gram-Manegaon glitters with solar energy

Bhopal : Thursday, May 26, 2005 Updated 20:13 IST

Gokul Gram Manegaon is in lime light as its lanes are shining with high mast lamps of solar energy every evening. Mangegaon is a small village in Jabalpur development block where fortune has taken a turn since its declaration as Gokul Gram.

Pace of all round development has speeded up at Manegaon village. Recently two tubewells have been dug successfully here to solve the drinking water problem. Soon these tubewells would start supplying water in a systematic manner. Besides, separate water tanks are being constructed in three localities of the village. Today Gokul Gram Mangegaon is boasting of its newly built cement roads alongwith two community halls. People say now life has become easier and smooth. They are enjoying newly created facilities. Keeping in view the abundance of natural beauty here the president of Janpad is planning to develop the village as a tourist place.

Manegaon is also the first ever Gokul Gram where "Bhoomi Pujan" for ten cement roads was performed same day. These roads costing Rs. 14 lakh would be constructed under the Scheduled Caste Basti Development Scheme. With the completion of these roads Malegaon would emerge as an ideal village.
