Radha,
daughter of Bagji of village Khauri in Sailana
development block of Ratlam district has now her 'own'
hand. After being fitted with artificial hand at a
check-up camp for handicapped persons, Radha is on
cloud nine and is planning to fathom great heights of
success. She aspires to become collector.
When
Ratlam collector Shri Mahendra Gyani had gone on
Sailana development block's tour, class IX student Ku.
Radha had met him and expressed her desire to be
fitted with an artificial hand. In turn, the collector
had instructed Deputy Director Panchayat and Social
Justice Department to affix an artificial hand to Ku.
Radha at the earliest. Radha's wish was fulfilled when
she was fitted with an artificial hand on the
instruction of Deputy Director Panchayat and Social
Justice Department Shri KN Joshi at a check-up camp
for handicapped persons organised jointly by Panchayat
and Social Justice Department and District Education
Centre recently at Sailana. After getting a new hand,
Radha is filled with enthusiasm and has started all
out efforts to achieve her cherished goal.

Radha, daughter of Bagji and Bhuri Bai of village
Khauri under Amargarh Gram Panchayat, was ten years
old when she had come into contact with a snapped live
electricity wire lying in a field. Her hand had to be
amputated when doctors failed to save it through every
kind of treatment. However, the loss of hand did not
deter Radha and she joined bridge course under Sarva
Shiksha Abhiyan. Radha is imbibing education in
Kasturba Gandhi Girls College at Bhilon Ki Khedi these
days.
