Govt.'s free coaching fulfills a father’s dream

Bhopal : Friday, August 20, 2010 Updated 20:00 IST

The initiatives taken by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the people belonging to tribes have not only benefited them on the ground level but also had shown ray of light to the students of this category.

The story of success starts from a small village Asadi in the tribal dominant Betul district. Manna Singh Dhurv, a local doctor who treats the people by “jadi buti”, had a dream to make his son an MBBS doctor. And this dream came true when his son Rajaram performed outstandingly and got admission at the Bundelkhand Medical College, Sagar.

Manna Singh always wanted his son to be an MBBS doctor. He wished him to continue with his studies in the cities like Indore and Bhopal but his economical condition could not match his dream. Then his son Rajaram came to know about the free coaching classes being imparted to the students belonging to Scheduled Castes – Scheduled Tribes by the department. Manna Singh and his son Rajaram contacted Assistant Commissioner regarding it. Seeing Rajaram’s interest, he advised to take free coaching. After three months vigorous coaching Rajaram cleared his PMT exams with flying colours. During his coaching, he was given free of cost books and stationeries worth Rs. 1500.

It may be mentioned that the Tribal Welfare Department imparts free coaching facilities for three months to the students belonging to scheduled castes and tribes for PMT and PET exams.

Rajaram says that as a doctor, he would serve his village and all this had happened only because of the free coaching by the state government.
