Success Story

Digital studio changed his fate

Shahdol : Monday, June 07, 2010 Updated 21:40 IST

This is the story of a young man who wanted to do something on his own and the government helped him in his endeavor. It was his intention to do something earnestly which made him a successful businessman today. 30- year old Sunil Sharma from a middle class family of Shahdol district had never dreamt that he would become a successful businessman so fast. When this calm and energetic young man passed BA six years ago, his only intention was to become a businessman.

According to his character Sunil never thought of not giving value to his education and proud of his hard work for his success in business. But his decision to start the small but very important business of digital studio was one of the paths which very few others dare to follow. For a career he never thought about job. After his college education Sunil Sharma got training in photography and digital work. He decided to start his own digital studio. But he had no money. He appealed the officers of District Industries Centre to assist him with a loan. His appeal was accepted.

In the year 2006 Sunil Sharma got Rs 98000 as loan under Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Yojna with which he started a digital studio. This was like fulfilling his dream. At that time it was a small business which has now grown into a wholesale firm of film roll, cassette, CD, photo album etc in Shahdol district. He considers one of his best achievement when people of the district appreciate his management skill. The digital studio has become lifeline of Sunil's family. It is earning him net profit of at least Rs 1.5 lakh every year. As soon as Sunil started getting income from the digital studio, his most important pending works like brother's marriage, construction of two additional rooms for the studio, purchasing of a Scooty and one motor cycle have been completed. It may also be mentioned here that his last but final installment of the loan has also been paid. The last installment will also be paid soon.

Sunil's business has spread all over the district. Today, he is a job provider to others. During the season he employs eight to ten persons. For improving business Sunil has started professional photography training course in the studio. One thing is certain. Becoming success in business was not a joke. Sunil has worked hard. And that brought him results. Today his business has grown to the extent that he has a large number of regular customers. About his success, what Sunil has to say? 'From the beginning I wanted to become a businessman. I thought that starting a business is better than running after a job.' He said 'diversity is the key to success of business. Expansion of my business was successful.'

According to Sunil, government schemes are beneficial for the common man. He says 'for those who want to do hard work, any project is beneficial. There are some who eats up the share capital itself. If you do hard work with dedication there is no reason why you should fail in your endeavor.'

Sunil begins his day early in the morning. And it would continue till late in the night, at least till 11 PM. According to him 'a successful businessman is one who thinks positively and does his work honestly.'
