Penniless
Ramkumar has now become owner of Tata Magic vehicle
worth Rs three lakh 15 thousand. He would ply the
vehicle as a taxi. Loan has been made available to him
to purchase the vehicle by Scheduled Caste Finance
Development Corporation. Besides, Ramkumar has also
been given the facility to pay half road tax for the
next four years.
Born
into a poor family, Ramkumar had not even an iota of
hope that one day he would own a vehicle worth over Rs
three lakh. That is why his joy knows no bounds after
owning this costly vehicle.
Due
to povery, Ramkumar Bagde, a resident of village
Digodha in Kirnapur development block, had to
discontinue his education after passing class X
examination. He wanted to do a smalltime business as
he was unable to make both the ends meet through
cultivation on a small piece of land. But finance was
the biggest hurdle before him. Sometimes, he used to
feel depressed fearing that even his small ambition
might not be fulfilled. In the mean time, Ramkumar
came to know through newspapers that loans are
extended to people belonging to scheduled castes by
Antyavasai Sahakari Vikas Samiti. Luck smiled on him
since the loan application moved by him was
immediately approved.
On
depositing an amount to the tune of Rs 12 thousand,
the District Antyavasai Sahakari Vikas Samiti provided
loan worth Rs three lakh 15 thousand to Ramkumar. He
purchased a Tata Magic vehicle from this amount. He
wants to use this vehicle as a taxi. He has come to
know that there are less means of transport between
Hatta and Malwa. Therefore, he plans to ply his taxi
on this route. Ramkumar intends to provide better
transport facility to villagers of this backward area.
Along
with Tata Magic, another fortune was in store for
Ramkumar. All taxes on his vehicle have been waived
for two years by the R.T.O. He has been given the
option of paying half tax for four years. Ramkumar has
been given loan on reduced rate of interest and would
pay only six percent interest per annum.
