Success Story

Three SC, ST students get admission in Scindia

School on Govt. expenses

Bhopal : Sunday, June 05, 2005 Updated 18:02 IST

Joy of Rakesh Shakya has no bounds these days, as his son Kuldeep Pratap is now a student of one of the prestigious public school in state, Scindia School, Gwalior. With the admission of Kuldeep in Scindia School Shri Shakya's long cherished dream of providing best education to his children (which he considered near impossible) has been fulfilled. All expenditure of Kuldeep's study amounting to Rs. 2.5 lakh would be borne by the state government.

I never wanted to repeat the history in my family, says Shri Rakesh Shakya who is an assistant teacher by profession and is posted at a primary school of Rayroo village in Gwalior district. I cleared my Pre-Medical Test (PMT) but was unlucky to take admission in medical college due to poor economic condition of the family. Those bruises are still fresh inside his heart. Today he is thankful to the state government. Under the scheme of providing admission to talented students of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes his son is admitted in the standard sixth in Scindia School, Gwalior.

Along with Kuleep three other students have been admitted in sixth standard of public school under the government scheme. Of these, two students Mohit Kumar Mandoliya and Shekhar Anurag have been given admission in Scindia School Fort, Gwalior and Neha Shekhar at Scindia Girls School, Gwalior. "Admission of our ward in such a prestigious school is not less than a miracle for us" say parents of these children.

It may be mentioned that talented students of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes are given admission in three prestigious schools of the state namely - Delhi Public School, Bhopal, Daly College Indore and Scindia School Gwalior under the scheme conducted by the state government. Educational expenses of students selected under the scheme are borne by the government.
