Jan Abhiyan Parishad to publish directory of NGOs

The Jan Abhiyan Parishad would publish a directory of NGOs. Their activities would be encouraged in the key sectors to spur the process of development. A decision about this was taken at meeting of the governing body here today. The Chief Minister Shri Babulal Gaur chaired the meeting.

The Jan Abhiyan Parishad was set up for promoting the constructive interference of NGOs in development works. Madhya Pradesh is lacking in participation of voluntary sector. It was decided to associate the Parishad to NGOs, which are functioning for the activities of different departments.

Minister for Rural Development and ex-official vice chairman of the Jan Abhiyan Parishad Shri Narendra Singh Tomar stressed the need for expansion of the activities of the Parishad. Vice chairman of the Jan Abhiyan Parishad Shri Anil Dave said that the Jan Abhiyan Parishad could play an effective role in chalking out schemes, their implementation and impact assessment.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Finance Shri Raghavji, Minister for Women and Child Development Sushri Kusum Mehdele, Minister of State for Backward Class Welfare Shri Badrilal Yadav, Dr. Ramcharan Badgaiya, Shri Yogendra Rathore, Shri Pradeep Pande, Shri Somkant Umalkar, Smt. Sadhna Jain, Shri Anil Pillai, Shri Deepak Mishra, Principal Secretary Shri Pradeep Bhargava and officers concerned.
