To man polling booths

Honorarium will be given

Bhopal : November 09, 2008

Apart from police forces, senior NCC cadets will also be deployed at polling booths for maintaining queues of voters and law and order. They will be given honorarium as per instruction of Election Commission.

The commission has decided to avail the services of senior NCC cadets for deploying them at polling booths. Their primary task will be to maintain voters' queues and law and order. The commission has made it clear that NCC cadets will be deployed only on the voting day and that too within their respective districts. Though the cadets will be in uniform but they will not wield arms. They will get honorarium at par with that of other employees doing the election duty. The commission has declared as holiday the day on which they will be deployed on duty. The state government will bear the expenses of their to and fro conveyance.
