As
many as 873 complaints regarding various matters
pertaining to polls have been disposed of during the
elections for 13th Vidhan Sabha. Despite the stupendous
task of making administrative preparations, constant
monitoring and various arrangements, the Election
Commission and its state unit have taken prompt action to
redress such a large number of complaints. Now only 520
complaints have remained to be disposed of and this
process at various levels has entered the last stage.
These are the complaints which were generally made during
the elections.
Complaints
have been redressed at two levels including Chief
Electoral Officer and the Election Commission. The
complaints pertained to violation of code of conduct,
voters' lists, voters' identity cards, polling booths,
transfers etc.
The
Chief Electoral Officer disposed of 203 complaints at his
level while 30 complaints will be redressed soon. These
complaints pertained to various departments. Besides, 50
complaints were redressed by commissioner Chambal
division, 99 by commissioner Gwalior, 53 by commissioner
Ujjain, 75 by commissioner Indore, 121 by commissioner
Bhopal, 25 by commissioner Narmadapuram, 37 by
commissioner Sagar, 80 by commissioner Jabalpur, 85 by
commissioner Rewa and 41 complaints were redressed by
commissioner Shahdol division.
