State merit scholarships to S.C., S.T. students

The state government is conducting a scheme for sanctioning the state merit scholarships to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes students who stand in merit list in the examinations of the M.P. Board of Secondary education to enable them to continue their education further and to encourage them to stand in the merit lists again.

Under this scheme, merit scholarship of Rs. 50 per month is sanctioned to the S.C. and S.T. students for a period of 10 months from July 1 to April 30.

The S.C. and S.T. students who secure the maximum marks in V, VI, VII and VIII examinations are eligible and take admission in the next classes are eligible for getting the merit scholarship. Entire Madhya Pradesh is the field for the state merit scholarships. The concerning students may contact the head masters, principals and district conveners of the Tribal Welfare Department for seeking information about the merit scholarship scheme.

Assistant Commissioner and district conveners of the Tribal Welfare Department are the competent authorities for sanctioning the merit scholarships.
