Medical coaching to backward classes' students

Bhopal : Sunday, March 26, 2005 Updated 21:11 IST

The State Government is conducting a pre-examination coaching scheme for the students of the backward classes. This facility is being extended to them for the preparation of entrance examination in medical, agriculture and engineering colleges.

The scheme aims at providing pre-examination training to the students of these classes seeking admission to the aforesaid colleges. Under the scheme, this training facility is provided to the candidates at the divisional headquarters. There is an arrangement for imparting the training to a maximum number of 120 candidates in each of the districts.

Such students of backward classes who are bonafide residents of Madhya Pradesh and have secured 60 percent of marks in the examination of class 11th, are eligible for receiving the training under this scheme. Besides, annual income of the family of the candidates should not exceed Rs.25 thousand.

Applications are invited through the advertisements in the local newspapers under this scheme. The candidates are selected after the scrutiny of their applications. The training is imparted by the experienced teachers and the subject specialists of the government science colleges situated at the divisional headquarters. The period for this training has been fixed as two and a half months.

The Collector along with the departmental assistant commissioner and district conveners have been authorised to accord sanction for the training. The assistant commissioners, district conveners of the department and the principals of the science colleges could be contacted for seeking detailed information of the scheme.
