In
order to provide educational
facility to scheduled caste
and scheduled tribe students
living in remote areas of
the state, arrangements for
Ashramshalas have been made
by the state government. The
students belonging to
scheduled castes and
scheduled tribes are
provided education from
standard I to VIII along
with lodging and boarding
facilities in these
ashramshalas.Every student
admitted in ashramshala is
eligible for the stipend.
The boy student is given
stipend at the rate of Rs.
350 per month and girl
student Rs. 360 per month
for the ten months. Besides
stipend, the boy and girl
students studying in class
VI, VII and VIII are
provided scholarship worth
Rs. 20 and Rs. 30 per month
respectively under the State
Scholarship Scheme while
girl students of V standard
are provided scholarship
wroth Rs. 150 for ten
months.
The
students belonging to
scheduled castes and
scheduled tribes are given
admission in ashramshalas on
the recommendation of the
admission committee. Top
priority in admission is
given to students of
previous year. The
application forms for the
admission is provided by the
Ashram superintendent free
of cost.Detailed information
about admission in
ashramshalas can also be
obtained from the
Commissioner / district
convenor of the department,
block development officer,
block education officer or
divisional convenor.
