Cash incentive to SC/ST candidates clearing Civil Service Examinations

The state government has implemented a scheme to provide cash incentive to the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates on clearing the examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission for civil services at different levels.

Under the scheme the candidates of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes clearing the All India Civil Services examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission are provided cash incentive at different levels. On clearing the preliminary examination a cash incentive of Rs. 40 thousand is given, on clearing the main examination Rs. 60 thousand and on final selection a cash incentive of Rs. 50 thousand is given. There is no income bar for eligibility for this incentive.

Similarly, on clearing the civil services examinations of Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission the candidates of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes are given cash incentive at different levels. However, the incentive is given to only those candidates the annual income of whose parents/guardians does not exceed Rs. 1.20 lakh. On clearing preliminary examination a cash incentive of Rs. 20 thousand is given while on clearing main examination Rs. 30 thousand and on selection after interview a cash incentive of Rs. 25 thousand is given.
