Self-Employment Scheme of Nabard for tribals

Madhya Pradesh Tribal Finance and Development Corporation is conducting self-employment scheme with the cooperation of the Refinance Scheme of NABARD in the state.

Under this scheme, financial help is made available in the form of bank loans to the tribal beneficiaries living below the poverty line to provide self-employment and to make additional source of income available to them. With the implementation of this scheme, the tribals would be helped to come above the poverty line. Grant is given to them by the corporation under this scheme.

Under this scheme, the annual income of the applicant living in urban areas should not exceed Rs. 21 thousand 206 and that of living in the rural area should not be more than Rs.15 thousand 976.

The loan cases under this scheme are prepared by the branches of the corporation and with the cooperation of the janpad panchayats and submitted to the bank. After sanctioning the loan by the bank, demand for grant is made and it is made available by the corporation. This scheme is being executed on the pattern of Swarna Jayanti Gram Rozgar Yojana. In case of personal beneficiaries the limit of grant loan is 50 percent of the total cost of the scheme or maximum of Rs. ten thousand and in case of a group of beneficiaries it will be 50 percent of the total cost of the scheme or the maximum of Rs. 1.20 lakh, whichever is less.

Similarly, in the cases of small irrigation schemes personal or collective, in both the cases, the grant can be given upto 50 percent of the cost of the project.
