Bhopal : Sunday, July 10, 2005 Updated 18:41 IST

A scheme for financial assistance to the law graduates of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is being conducted by the State Government. Under this scheme, S.C. and S.T. law graduates are encouraged to establish themselves in the legal profession and to lead an independent life.

The selection of these law graduates for receiving the financial help is made on the recommendations of the bar association. After conducting a test by the Collector, financial help of Rs.200 per month is sanctioned to the law graduates for a period of one year. Only SC and ST law graduates of Madhya Pradesh are eligible to receive this financial help under the scheme.

The law graduates will have to submit their applications to the assistant commissioner or district convenors through the district bar association. A certificate of the Bar Council and a mark-sheet of the law examination should be enclosed with the application. The financial help will be sanctioned to the beneficiaries after the scrutiny of their applications in the district office.

The district convenor and assistant commissioner of the concerning district are competent authorities to sanction the financial help to the SC and ST law graduates.

The law graduates beneficiaries will have to submit their applications for this financial help to the assistant commissioner and the district convenors of their district.
