Training-Cum-Production Centre Scheme for S.C., S.T. youths

A Training-cum-Production Centre Scheme is being conducted by the State Government for imparting employment-oriented technical training to the youths of the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.

This scheme aims at imparting one-year vocational and technical training to the less educated scheduled castes and scheduled tribes youths.

One-year training is imparted to the scheduled caste and the scheduled tribe youths through these centres. Nine such centres have been opened in nine districts under tribal sub-plan area in the state.

The SC and ST youths having passed fifth class examination are eligible for training under this scheme. The selection of the eligible beneficiaries is made through the manager district officers of the institution.

A monthly stipend of Rs.250 and Rs. 260 is paid to the boy and girl candidate respectively under the scheme for a period of one year by the training institute. Guidance is given to the successful trainees for the establishment of self-employment from time to time. The desirous beneficiary may contact the collector, assistant commissioner, district convener of tribal welfare department or the manager of the institute in the district for more information.
